Edgify Reviews & Product Details

Edgify is the on-device AI platform for retail. It runs product recognition, loss prevention and real-time store intelligence directly on the hardware retailers already own: self-checkouts, scales, scanners, POS terminals, cameras and handhelds, from any OEM. No cloud round-trip, no rip-and-replace, and shopper data never leaves the store. Edgify is live in 2,000+ stores across 12 countries on 8,000+ production devices. Its models are trained on 400M+ real-world retail samples and deliver 98.9% recognition accuracy on barcodeless items. WHAT EDGIFY DOES Loss Prevention, built into every lane. Always-on, in-store AI that detects non-scans, barcode switching, mislabels, items left in carts and suspicious assisted transactions (sweethearting) as they happen, then intervenes before the transaction completes: prompting the shopper to re-scan or alerting staff. Built-in ROI reporting measures every prevented loss. Retailers recover 85%+ of the loss Edgify targets. Product Recognition, without the barcode. Instant identification of fresh produce and unpackaged items on self-service scales, scanners, self-checkout and staffed lanes, even inside plastic bags. No manual lookup, no code sheets. Checkout is up to 5x faster on fresh items, with 69% less mislabeling, protecting margin on fresh categories. Beyond the checkout. The same intelligence layer extends to back-of-house waste tracking, inventory and packing accuracy, and operational verification across checkout, food service and fulfilment workflows. THE ENGINE UNDERNEATH: EDGIFY MLOPS Every application runs on one platform that discovers, onboards, secures and orchestrates every device in the estate regardless of manufacturer, then trains, validates, deploys, monitors and updates models over the air. Ship a new model to every device in the estate without touching one of them; onboarding, validation and rollback run store by store from a single console. A self-learning flywheel turns every customer and staff confirmation into a labeled training event, so models keep improving in production with no manual annotation. Learnings spread across the estate; raw data stays local. Ready for AI agents. Edgify exposes live estate state (device inventory, recognition events, intervention history and model status) through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so retailer-built, vendor and third-party agents can query what is actually happening on the store floor, under the same permissioning and data residency rules as the rest of the platform. WHY RETAILERS CHOOSE EDGIFY - Runs on what you own: compatible with 80%+ of existing retail hardware across 40+ OEMs, and certified on hardware and software from leading scale, scanner, self-checkout and POS vendors. - Privacy by design: processing happens on the device and raw imagery does not traverse the network. What leaves the store is model learning and operational telemetry, not shopper data. - Real-time by default: decisions at the point of action, with no latency, bandwidth cost or cloud dependency. - Measurable from day one: most engagements start with a 12-week pilot on existing hardware in a defined set of stores, with an agreed measurement framework before anything is switched on, followed by a staged rollout. Edgify is trusted by leading grocers across North America, the UK and Europe and partners with major retail hardware and software vendors. Every deployment includes zero-touch device onboarding, fleet monitoring and analytics, architecture and rollout review, and email and web support.
