# Which video hosting platforms make it easy to embed videos in email campaigns and series?

Hi, video marketing folks and category reviewers on G2, this one's for you. Trying to find platforms that make video-in-email actually easy. Most email clients don’t support playing true embedded video files inside an email body

Open Gmail or Outlook and try to actually play a video sitting inside the email itself, it won't work. What that needs:

A thumbnail with a play button, since the click does the work, not an inline player

View tracking tied back to the recipient's email, not just an anonymous play count

Native embed codes for common ESPs (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Marketo)

A few video hosting tools we've been researching on G2:

Vidyard: built around this exact workflow. Thumbnail links to a Vidyard player, and it logs who watched by email automatically.

Wistia: auto-generates the thumbnail and passes the recipient's email to the player on click, so engagement flows straight into Wistia stats.

Vimeo: supports the same thumbnail approach, but it's a Business-tier feature and up, not available on entry plans.

What's made the bigger difference for you: how good the thumbnail looks, or how cleanly the click tracks back to the recipient?

Between the two, click tracking tied to the recipient is the one that keeps paying off, since a nice thumbnail earns the open once, but recipient-level engagement is what tells you who to follow up with and when.

Vidyard reviewers consistently describe exactly that loop, sharing by link rather than attachment, seeing who watched and how far, with the activity flowing into HubSpot or the inbox they already use. On the thumbnail side, the thing that actually breaks across clients is animated previews falling back to a static image in Outlook, so the safe design is one that still reads with no animation at all. The under-asked part is the landing-page load once the click leaves the email, because a slow page loses the viewer you just earned.
