"Seamless GitHub Integration with Easy Onboarding and a Modern UI"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DX?

I really like how naturally it integrates with developer tools like GitHub. As a team lead, I’ve faced the challenge of measuring impact and team productivity, and without an integrated way to pull those measurements from the tools developers use day to day, the whole process quickly becomes tedious. I love DX because it does that for free, and the default organizational categories are excellent as well.

Onboarding is also very easy, the interface is modern and user friendly, and I like there is always an inline explanation.

AI support is good enough for the moment, and probably at a good balance where it leaves room for the human to interpret the results.

I did not notice any issues related to performances, and even large amount of imported data is digested fine Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

I have heard the pricing is a bit steep, so it is up to us now understand if the calculated value we get out of it balances its costs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless GitHub and Deployment Metrics with Actionable AI Insights"
4/5
What do you like best about DX?

The ability to collate GitHub PR metrics and deployment metrics into a single system that has an easy-to-use user interface. It integrates these data sources seamlessly to provide accurate insights into my team's individual contributions. On top of this the AI suggestions based on our snapshots provide decent starting points for insights Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

Certain of the navigations can be improved, I often get tripped up finding out how to drill down dashboard insights at my team level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful insights into developer experience, with some room to improve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about DX?

I really like how DX gives us actual data on where our developers are struggling instead of just guessing. The surveys are quick, and the team-level insights have helped me have better conversations with my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

The dashboards can feel a bit overwhelming at first, and it took us some time to figure out which metrics really matter. I also wish the recommendations were more specific, since turning the insights into concrete action still takes effort on our side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Enhances Team Performance Insights Seamlessly"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DX?

I like how all the data is already integrated into the dashboard with DX and that I don't need to do anything extra as an engineering manager to access it. The fact that it's easy and pain-free to use is a big plus. Its integration with GitHub and Jira is very useful, and the connection with Backstage is nice since it aligns all our platform data on team services. I really appreciate the AI adoption metrics, especially when it comes to seeing which team members are utilizing skills the most. Also, setting up DX was straightforward for me, as I just had to sign in through SSO while my platform team handled all the connections and third-party integrations. I also really love the fact that there is an MCP for DX, it's been such a big unlock - this makes annual reviews much easier and helps me create realtime dashboards about my engineers performance through Claude Code directly. What do you dislike about DX?

I find that metrics like true throughput and PRs often need more nuance. The way DX currently looks at PRs - just by their size or number - doesn't fully capture the value added by an engineer. There are instances when engineers work on PRs for migrations or batch processes, which may not be as valuable as more complex, high-cognitive-load tasks. It should consider factors like code complexity and duplication for a more accurate measure of true throughput. Additionally, it was frustrating that when our company used AWS Bedrock instead of a Claude Enterprise account, we couldn't integrate or measure AI usage on DX from that source. "Simplifies Team Polls with Insightful Features"
5/5
What do you like best about DX?

I appreciate how simple DX is to use. It's a straightforward form that only takes a couple of minutes to fill out. I also like being able to see trends over time with the aggregation feature. This really helps in understanding the patterns and bottlenecks in our engineering processes. Additionally, I find it beneficial that all comments are public, which helps in surfacing any process issues our team might face. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

I'm not sure DX covers all aspects of the software engineering lifecycle and working as an engineer. It could probably expand on the questions. It would be good to ask questions that can uncover areas of improvement we haven't thought about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Team Insights with a Easy-to-Use UI"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DX?

It combines various signals from multiple sources like Jira, GitHub, and AI metrics, and brings them together into one comprehensive report. The app’s design is also clean, nice, and easy to use. Overall, DX has helped me better understand how my team is working, and the AI insights are a particularly useful feature for day-to-day use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

There are a lot of reports and information available. While they’re useful, I found it overwhelming and difficult to quickly locate the specific details I was looking for. The information is there, but it feels buried under a ton of other sections and content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outstanding Data Visualization and Insights That Drive Real Team Improvements"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DX?

The data visualization is everything. The insights tab, as well as going to the Snapshots section and reviewing each Driver and how it compares within the company and the industry is extremely helpful. I have been able to prioritize specific goals and see results as soon as the next Snapshot happens. We now have a no-meetings on Wednesdays policy to help drive Deep work. We also started bringing engineers earlier in the planning phase with our product and design partners. Noting down areas of focus and bringing them to our team retros really has set us up for success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

Sometimes it's confusing to understand what exactly you're looking at. For example, it's much easier for me to review the Insights tab than it is to understand the landing (Overview) page. Metrics like fail percentage and Innovation ratio have in some occasions not reflected the actual mood of the team. It might be because of how it related to the way some questions in the Snapshot are phrased but even so, stating we have a certain percentage of innovation ratio is not as useful as just seeing the weekly trends in the Insights tab. "Valuable Insights with Some Limitations"
4/5
What do you like best about DX?

I use DX as a support platform that is very comprehensive, and what I like most is that through DX we can gain insights that we wouldn't have with other tools. The platform also offers many tips and suggestions on how to direct each action in relation to each driver, which is extremely useful. When we carry out the screening process to direct and prioritize the drivers, the tool provides many suggestions on how to work in the short, medium, and long term to solve possible problems or aspects to improve, in addition to AI insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

DX could have a better heatmap for visualization with more distinct and organized colors. Another point is the comparison and evolution of actions; there could be a repository within the platform for us to place analyses, action plans, and record them to track in future rounds and have the history of the teams. The heatmap is a bit hard to see, not very organized, the colors are very similar, and it's difficult to understand the differences in the heatmap. Regarding the comparison of actions, it would be a simple space like a board to write, add attachments, type, etc., where we could add our comments, points for improvement, and track the evolution of items, status, and historical comparisons. The initial setup of DX was a bit confusing at first, even with many trainings and onboardings, but I really learned by using the tool in practice and picking up tips on the DX website. "Great Developer Experience Analytics with Useful AI Capabilities"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DX?

DX combines powerful analytics with a very user-friendly experience. The platform is fast, easy to navigate, and provides meaningful visibility into developer productivity and satisfaction.

The quarterly surveys and Pulse alerts help identify emerging issues early, while the AI capabilities in Data Studio make it simple to build custom reports and tracking metrics. I also value the Microsoft Teams integration, which helps bring insights directly into our team's workflow. Overall, DX has reduced manual reporting effort and made it easier to act on developer experience data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

The Teams and Groups concept is useful, but the experience feels inconsistent across the platform. Some reports support group selection while others don't, and default selections don't always persist as expected. It would be much easier to use if there were a single global team/group filter that applied consistently across all reports and dashboards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Insightful Tool with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about DX?

I really like the MCP connector feature in DX, which allows me to answer questions without having to log in. It's super helpful for preparing for one-on-ones, as it provides a lot of context through Claude Cowork and Granola meeting notes, allowing me to ask questions about ICs across different platforms. This way, I can spot any irregularities in performance before they become issues, giving me a broader visibility into insights across Jira and GitHub. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

I don't love that the snapshot surveys require manual intervention. I want an LLM to automatically suggest areas to focus on and offer solutions. It's my first time being a manager and reviewing a snapshot; it highlighted trends like changes quarter over quarter but didn't make any suggestions on how to address them, which was all manually done by me.
