Setting up and creating templates is fairly easy, and it's straightforward to integrate and generate documents, making it quick and easy to do what we need. I haven't experienced any downtime, and the team has been super responsive all the time. Also, I find the pricing quite reasonable. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** There is a bit of a learning curve with the coding of the templates. For those that haven't coded before it can be challenging. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Docmosis makes it quick and easy to create dynamic documents and set up templates. It's straightforward to integrate and generate documents, solving document generation problems efficiently. ### 2. Docmosis Tornado has proven fast, reliability, and ability to handle complex formatting and high-volume document creation. A key benefit is its flexibility, as it can be deployed on Windows, Linux, and via Docker. The vendor provides a Docker image to simplify the setup process, bundling necessary dependencies like Java and LibreOffice, which users find to be a straightforward way to get up and running quickly for testing or deployment. While there is some learning curve for advanced features, I find this product is generally a strong choice for businesses like ours that prefer to keep document generation on their own infrastructure and integrate it with their custom applications via a REST API. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** The PDF templates using LibreOffice document templates can bring some limitations of normal Word applications compared to other templates like Crystal Reports, Quest, etc. However, the change in template formats is easily adaptable so not something that would hold me back from recommending the product. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been using a 20 year old VB6 custom application to generate our critical customer facing documentation integrating with Crystal Reports. While stable, this legacy technology has been in need of a replatform and replacing Crystal Reports for the PDF templatization of Docmosis Tornado has proven effective and scalable. ### 3. If we've had any issues, the Docmosis Support team has always quickly helped us out. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Previously creating professional quality documents took us or our clients significant amounts of time and with manual use, loads of training and of course user errors. Docmosis has taken our boutique SaaS to new levels thanks to the quality and ease of producing professional documents (whether Service Proposals, Employment Contracts, NDA's or any other document you can think of) each and every time. ### 4. There is no need for IT competence, it can be done by any reasonably savvy regular user. You just do it in Word, no weird custom UI you need to get your head around. And, all the formatting from Word is just there in the document generated. IT is only needed to set up the interface between your system and docmosis. Ideally that is a one time job. The tricky part is knowing your own system well enough to know what to put where in the template, the "coding" in Docmosis is the easy part. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** Simplicity is not always (only) a good thing. Docmosis is super simple to manage, but is does lack some complexity on the storage of and access to the templates. There is a single log in to each Docmosis account, preventing you from distributing more complex privileges. There is also no version handling, in Docmosis there is only one version of each template. The live version. We do have a free development account where we can store new versions, but it is not really the same thing. So - version handling and access privileges must be handled outside of Docmosis. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Working in the legal industry we have a vast amount of standard letters we use daily. By Docmosis we can easily set up and maintain our letter templates without asking IT to assist. We only need IT when a new data field, never used before, is needed. This means the template coders aslo know the subject matter and the speed of revising and updating letter templates has significanly improved. In the rare occasions we have not been able to solve our template design issues ourselves via Docmosis brilliant guide, the support has responded with a solution within hours, even if they are a time zone, completely opposite ours. ### 5. We have a tiny developer group (5), and everyone uses the platform almost without training. The very few times we had issues with the platform were resolved very quickly by the support team, which we appreciate. My company is an outsourcing and staffing company, so you must have the documentation in order, for your customers and personnel. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** We have a lot of customers with different requirements about documents. Some are difficult to render using the platform, but anyway, you can do that somehow and with the support of the Docmosis staff. All the documentation we need to provide to our personnel, and customers is generated using Docmosis. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** ATCOM is a staffing and outsourcing service provider. We must provide a lot of documentation to fulfill regulatory laws and mandatory compliance required by our clients. And every business could be very different. Docmosis has been our only provider to do that, and it has been cost-effective for us. ### 6. Instead of relying on a vendor that would have a bigger lift, we chose Docmosis for its simplicity. Originally, I was worried about uptime, but I am happy to report that in the months of using them, this has not been an issue! **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** Nothing to complain about! We are super happy with our decision to move over to Docmosis. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our application provided users with the ability to download a PDF and word document of data presented in a UI. It uses Libre Ofice which technically does not require any licensing costs. They have a container image for it. The licensing costs are very reasonable and enable us to produce a high number of documents on our own internal servers. It has also enabled us to move document generation away from user PC's and to centralized servers, where it can be more easily managed and upgraded. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** I don't like that we have to build the initial docker image. It takes about 20 minutes after upgrades to compile it. Maybe it has to do with licensing some of the installed components, etc. We successfully added fonts and some other items to the image that were required for some of our documents **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Eliminating the need to install special fonts on end-user pc's. Centralizing the location of templates and eliminating the distribution of those to users. Has allowed us to move our document generation off of Expensive Windows servers and onto Linux servers in a Docker image. Better templates, resulting in better documents. ### 8. Templates, as with any of this service, can get tricky and hard to manage, but Docmosis provides some help listing the generation error. I like the rendering UX; It's fast to iterate and debug templates. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** Sometimes formatting tables can become a trial-and-error effort. Same thing with image placement when you need pixel-perfect positioning. But, that's a problem with other vendors too. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Agreement terms, proposals, list items and receipts. It's fast and cost-effective. Documents generated include tables, conditional sections, conditional rows, some embedded logic, variables etc. With some effort, almost any use case can be handled. ### 10. Most of our outputs have lot of common elements which docmosis allowed us to create once and reuse it in multiple instances. Also it is easier to learn and adapt, we saw considerable increase in productivity. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** The installation can be more userfriendly and they should explore cloud and subscription options. I am not sure whether they are already there. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** In our usecase we need to generate numerous customer facing documents and that too should be faster to develop. It is compatible with Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, JSON and XML files. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** I have problems with open source programs on Linux. **Recommendations to others considering Docmosis:** It is easy to use; synchronization is automatic to save all important information in the cloud. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Any user can generate or modify documents from the Docmosis cloud without problems, advanced programming knowledge is not needed to use this tool, it makes work easier. I synchronize all the files to a local server and from there I synchronize all the internal computers of the network to increase the speed of creation and modification of all the files. ### 13. This Docmosis program allows us to convert files and work on them as needed without having to bother the guys upstairs. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** I like how it can go across devices, and was really excited to try it out with libreoffice because we have a bunch of interns that use computers with not enough pass-codes to go around, but that did create some integration problems. It's easier to use just one central program to edit from. **What problems is Docmosis solving and how is that benefiting you?** It just saves us the hassle of paying more highly skilled people to do simple work and is now something management can handle without having to delegate this kind of work out. ### 17. We started with a Cloud-based solution and moved to On-Premise installation when our usage volumes went up. I love the way the product is adapting to our needs! Both Engineering and Support teams behind Docmosis are very responsive. Suggestions and questions that we had were always addressed very quyickly. I really enjoyed working with them. **What do you dislike about Docmosis?** Templating complex documents requires us to tweak the source document from time to time. Fortunately, Docmosis offers really helpful support.
