Not much is required to be done as XLDeploy prepare all the deployment steps on its own. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Deploy?** Not too user friendly. UI has a lart scope of improvement. Also many simple but useful features can be added to help users. **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Enterprise-wide deployments are done using Deploy tool ### 2. The products has the capability to display deployment analytics and generate reports that enable users to improve on their systems. It is quite secure. Easy and fast deployments with ability to set self-service deployments. Supports latest cloud technologies as well as containers. In the case of errors there are automated rollbacks to keep your system up and running. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Deploy?** The demo is not enough, I would suggest a full documentation for one to seamlessly operate the product. **Recommendations to others considering Digital.ai Deploy:** It really saves time on manually having to upload every changes on the system. Also with its capability to perform rollbacks and keep versions of the system makes it even the best platform to handle continuous deployment. **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** A smart way to continuously deploy your systems or application automatically. Highly secured and keeps versions of the system which helps in the time when a system rollback is necessary. ### 3. Documentation is a nightmare. When you think you can use it as Infrastructure as code, dream on. It only does some deployment, no configuration management. What a Devops engineer wants is tooling that manages the integrity of the deployment. Something XLDeploy isn't managing at all. It is an additional tool to manage that absorbs a huge amount of time that could have been better spent to REAL Devops tooling. Way too expensive considering the license costs against what XLdeploy should solve for customers, and the reality is that it is not able to solve what is promises. **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** My client has 80+ development teams that should switch to use Xldeploy but it does not solve anything. The applications use a wide range of languages and tooling. We see no benefits only downsides, it drains budgets and time schedules. ### 4. I also like the ability to configure different values for dictionary keys, both in plain text and encrypted, for including in properties files for deploys to different environments. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Deploy?** One of the downsides I've noticed in XL Deploy is a lack of an automatic refresh feature of displaying the most current versions of applications, environments and infrastructures available. **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems we are solving with XL Deploy are configuring properties for different environments and more fully automating our builds and deploys using Jenkins and XL Release. The benefits we have realized are being able to configure different values for different environments in our applications, as well as possessing a layer for storing data about our applications when releasing our code. ### 6. And the integration with Jenkins although it works fine, passing params is sometimes unintuitive. One other thing is that the UI is sometimes sluggish, especially when editing dictionary values. **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem we are solving is having different configuration values and files per environment and deploying our packages and we successfully did that. ### 7. Generally as per business requirements source code is visible to all the users but secured information like password and configuration details will be stored in property files. XL deploy will provide easy way to deploy on single server as well as multiple servers. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Deploy?** XL deploy is looking as legacy user interface(UI) It is more convienant if XL deploy provide help document. **Recommendations to others considering Digital.ai Deploy:** Easy and time cosumption deployment tool **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Reducing time consumption and manual work by deploying on multiple servers at a time. It makes work a bit surprising some times **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** The daily CI and CD needs are being solved by this as we deploy our enterprise applications using XL deploy on websphere and also as a stand-alone application. ### 9. A great example is the uploadable zip archive that may have the full app executable, configurations, database content etc... Can use environment specific parameters by using placeholders, fills them up from a key-value table. Has plugin support, mainly for java and .net, deploy scripts are standardized. Can deploy to several environments at a time, say test, development, production.It keeps a detailed version history, including the database, key-value tables. The ability to rollback to an earlier version with just a few clicks is just awesome. The dashboard is pretty good too. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Deploy?** A few problems that still linger are with the custom dependencies. We sometimes got a buggy deps that crashed the build, Also, the dashboard will not always report information reliably. It might show build successful but upon opening detailed status we got to see stack error when the deployment did not work. Some stability issues with plugins need to be solved. All things considered, only the dashboard is the mission critical problem that we have faced. **Recommendations to others considering Digital.ai Deploy:** Should give it a spin. While it is a pain to set up properly, I think the end results just might be worth it. **What problems is Digital.ai Deploy solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can easily deploy to several environments, fast. We use Jenkins for CI and DeployIt to push to our production servers. ### 11. The plugin system augments XL Deploy and covers most of today's requirements, extensibility is always a big plus. Detailed status about every stage in the pipeline helps iron out any issues. Can use packages built with TFS for automatic deployments. Can create a scratch project with simple pipeline. Supports maven. Some of these are great features, some we can live without but we are using it all. **What do you dislike about Digital.ai Deploy?** The initial setup is not as streamlined as I would like. Documentation is hard to process. The GUI is a mess, requiring proprietary software to view in a browser. More complex pipelines can not be visualized as easily. Plugin backward compatibility is something I would like rather than fast pace updates that has a specific dependency. Can not replicate actual command line. **Recommendations to others considering Digital.ai Deploy:** Frankly, our release frequency has gone up by several factors.
