  ### 2. Great driver but requires specific licenses

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John D. | Application Solutions Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about ODBC driver for Salesforce?**

Like with most other database connection drivers, this allows me to remotely connect using a third-party tool to extract data from Salesforce tables for the entire organization.

**What do you dislike about ODBC driver for Salesforce?**

My only qualm about the driver (and it's not a deal-breaker) is that it requires certain developer permissions to use. If we want some users to be able to extract data themselves that can be troublesome.

**What problems is ODBC driver for Salesforce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A database connector is pretty standard. So like other connectors, it allows me to connect directly to the underlying database in SalesForce. When the user has the correct permissions it allows us to use external tools to extract data.

**Official Response from Jordan Sanders:**

> Thanks a lot. Your feedback is valuable to us.
