They have been indispensible in creating content across so many areas - internal documents, posters, marketing materials, web content, flyers, brochures, training manuals, a mural for our wall, etc. We can prioritize and re-prioritize our queue. The staff are ultra friendly and eager to design the perfect materials. There's never push-back or attitude, laziness or delays like the ones we've had with other graphic designers. This is one of the best monthly expenditures for our company. **What do you like best about Design Pickle?** Our artist, Arturo Cosme Zavala is a rock star. He communicates through Slack and greets us with a good morning and asking if the queue order we have is how we want it. He lets us know when he's headed to lunch, back in the office and signing off in the evening. Revisions are done quickly, and I love the interaction where he really wants to know what we want for our brand. I'm just crazy about this talented team of people. **What do you dislike about Design Pickle?** What's to dislike? They are efficient, friendly, inquisitive about our projects, create multiple versions of designs so that I can have different purposes for the same project request. I haven't found anything that I dislike about working with Design Pickle. **Recommendations to others considering Design Pickle:** I get it - it seems like an expensive service. However, in this day and age, we have to be hyper-focused on the client experience and customer relationship management. Hiring a freelance graphic artist becomes far more expensive with enormour time delays. Wit Design Pickle, we load stuff up daily with requests - for external facing marketing materials to internal use only documents. They are just so fast, efficient, friendly, eager to build your brand and take it next level. **What problems is Design Pickle solving and how is that benefiting you?** So many problems have been resolved by having Design Pickle!!! We are able to create lots of content for Instagram and Facebook. We can create user and training manuals, materials to send to our customers, in office posters, flyers, handouts, and brochures. We are saving enormous amounts of development time over using graphic artists we have hired in the past. Arturo and Team know our brand, our colors, our brand elements and fonts. They create magnificent products that allow the brand to shine across so many varied pieces of collateral. ### 3. As someone with some Photoshop experience, but not much in the way of design talent, it's a godsend to be able to work with a company that provides design services without having to hire a full-time graphic designer. Turnaround time is fairly quick as well as most projects are done within 24 hours. **What do you like best about Design Pickle?** The turnaround time is really quick. I have worked with full-time graphic designers on staff that can't pump out designs as quickly as design pickle. Mostly every project we request is finished within 24 hours. Additionally, the transparency is great. The designer will usually communicate with you every step of the way. If a design happens to be not quite right, this is really helpful, as you can communicate with them and let them know what needs to change. **What do you dislike about Design Pickle?** I have had some occasions where instructions weren't followed exactly the way I would have liked and it caused a lag in when I could put something out. This is fairly rare in my experience though, and Design Pickle is quick to replace your designer with one who will more closely suit your needs. **Recommendations to others considering Design Pickle:** Be very clear when adding your instructions to the designer. **What problems is Design Pickle solving and how is that benefiting you?** In our business, we're running exclusive ads for many clients at once. I could put the ads together myself, but it would take quite a bit of time out of my day. We've gone through 3-4 different Design Pickle designers who have helped us with website design, digital ads, social posts, blog posts, infographics, ebooks, etc. Overall, I've been extremely disappointed with the platform and service as a whole. Not only does it often take up to 2 hours to get a request delivered to my designer's queue, but I have to also provide all of the copy along with word-for-word design instructions and a near-literal mockup of what I want completed. **What do you like best about Design Pickle?** Slack integration enables real-time feedback and discussion via Slack. **What do you dislike about Design Pickle?** 1. It often takes up to 2 hours to get a project delivered to my designer's queue 2. I have to provide all copy along with extremely detailed instructions of exactly what I want any asset to look like 3. They're responsible for template development, batch creatives, and one-off posts of every format imaginable. Since we have other designers too, we use them to extend our capacity, not replace the function altogether. **What do you like best about Design Pickle?** We like the ease of communication with Design Pickle. We have a shared Slack workspace/channel that makes nitty gritty requests and edits easy. We also enjoy the intuitive request form and the ability to prioritize the backlog. **What do you dislike about Design Pickle?** It can sometimes feel like when we have fewer requests in the backlog they're slower to deliver, not faster. The turnaround time for simple deliverables can seem long, other times it's lightning fast. We've also turned over dedicated designers 3 times. We had a really strong relationship with our second designer and loved her work, but she was moved to a new position. Cycling creatives on an account can be a good thing, but our work is so specialized we valued having a designer on our team that could deliver great work with minimal direction. **Recommendations to others considering Design Pickle:** Your output is only as good as your output (though sometimes, a little better). For best results make detailed briefs, provide examples, and be clear on priorities. Add Design Pickle to Slack (if you can) and like any service remember that you're working with a human. The best time to start using Design Pickle is before you NEED them. We use Design Pickle in conjunction with other in-house and freelance designers that have their own strengths and specialties, and would recommend a similar structure for others. **What problems is Design Pickle solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past we've found our in-house creatives burnt out quickly on repetitive tasks like ad variations with different colors. Or working on clients with unsexy messaging/products. But welcome to digital marketing! Now, we use DP to fill an important role on our content team at an affordable rate. We've found it's best to use them to complete designs based on templates, but expect to have to go through multiple revisions for most projects that are original or more than one item. You can set up your brands, defining your colors, fonts, and brand assets. Once you've set up your profiles and worked your designer into your workflow, it's easy to manage between their dashboard and Slack. Managing our queue submitting requests, sharing files, asking for revisions, and approving and downloading your designs are made easy using both of these tools. With Premium, our designer stays in regular contact with us so that we can check on the status of tasks and answer any questions quickly. We use the premium service, so they complete multiple designs per day more often. However, it's still not a dedicated designer, so it definitely doesn't replace having a talented in-house designer working daily. **What do you like best about Design Pickle?** We are able to communicate with our designer via Slack, so we can answer any immediate questions easily. **What do you dislike about Design Pickle?** The designer has multiple clients, so it's not a dedicated service and sometimes that leads to delays in delivery. They helped design brochures, core values, social media posts, swag items, making one-color logos...etc. They were friendly, so understanding when we asked for any changes (and I'm pretty picky), upbeat and creative, almost seeming like they wanted you to give them projects which was a nice change to many vendors who discourage utilizing unlimited or space out your projects, and they were extremely fast - usually getting designs (even big projects) back to us within days. But what I most wanted to mention was their stance during covid. We had actually already hired a marketer by then so had cancelled our subscription. Yet Design Pickle notified all prior customers that they knew how hard covid was on businesses so they were offering a free month of design services, no questions asked. And then they sent out worksheets and themed coloring pages throughout the summer which some of our staff members printed out to help occupy their unexpectedly-at-home young kids. I was very impressed with how easy the Design Pickle process was to set-up and by how quickly the content is generated. My designer is fantastic to work with - very professional and responsive - and I am extremely impressed with his creative output. **What do you like best about Design Pickle?** The Design Pickle platform makes request submission, modification and communication really easy. **What do you dislike about Design Pickle?** If I were forced to find fault with the Design Pickle process overall, I'll bet my designer is underpaid. I'll use this forum to argue that he deserves a raise! **What problems is Design Pickle solving and how is that benefiting you?** I had an ambitious design project in mind that I could not complete on my own.
