Regarding reliability, I have worked with the Dell/EMC Symmetrix family of arrays (VMAX is part of that family) for almost 25 years and have never had an unplanned downtime because of array hardware or service failure. Finally, the Dell EMC account team is second to none and is an extension of our team. **What do you dislike about Dell VMAX All Flash Storage?** This is not necessarily a dislike, but just a fair warning. Although the array is not too complicated to manage for basic storage presentation, because there is just so much you can do with the array (replication, snapshots, storage presentation, etc) there is a lot to learn in order to master the true power of the array. It is a true Tier 1 enterprise array. Also, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. If I had unlimited funds, I would run our entire enterprise on VMAX/PMAX, but that's just not financially possible. **Recommendations to others considering Dell VMAX All Flash Storage:** Work very closely with your Dell EMC sales team to scope out the solution specific to your environment. It will take some time, but this is a serious investment and a complex system, so patience is required. Your sales team will get you there. They work very closely with back-end engineers/specialists to make sure you're getting the right configuration. They don't want to just give you a generic configuration and say "here you go...good luck." Put your senior engineers on the project. **What problems is Dell VMAX All Flash Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our mission-critical workloads run on VMAX (Electronic Medical Record, PACS imaging, interface engine, etc). For workloads that need consistent sub-millisecond response times and absolute 100% uptime, it is our platform of choice. ### 7.
