Statistics are a great feature which allows you to track network activity. It is pretty easy to figure out who's connecting, when and how much data was pulled. I like the fact that it adds features often aren't available in out-of-box solution like guest network, multi-WAN, VPN, multi-SSID setup. On the devices with USB I was even able Connect printer and local storage. **What do you dislike about DD-WRT?** Overall there is not much I really don't like about DDWrt. Maybe having a new UI would be refresher, But as it is it's very functional, so maybe there is no point in even touching that. **Recommendations to others considering DD-WRT:** I would go about this question a little bit different. First look at what devices are supported and then by proper device which is going to fit your needs in terms of power and usability. **What problems is DD-WRT solving and how is that benefiting you?** You can change really cheap and disappointing device into something which you pretty much wouldn't get for the same money. Is that features which often aren't part of standard router firmware. ### 3. If your router doesn't support VPN connections or parental control or access control lists, then DD-WRT will allow you to have these features without changing your router **What do you dislike about DD-WRT?** Setting up DD-WRT is tricky. Different routers require different versions of the firmware and additional installation steps. It requires a skilled IT person as doing anything wrong might brick your router. **Recommendations to others considering DD-WRT:** Installing DD-WRT is complicated, but once you complete this step, you will unlock many additional features. You will give your old router superpowers. **What problems is DD-WRT solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows you to add functionality to your existing old routers. You can configure a router as an access point or wifi extender or create VPN tunnels and apply child protection policies. ### 4. It continues to offer updates while many manufacturers will abandon once their hardware goes to the next sales cycle of new offerings. **What do you dislike about DD-WRT?** You must be responsible and take ownership of doing the updates. **What problems is DD-WRT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mainly just having a feature that does not exist with the manufacturer and having more tools built-in. More tools mean more diagnostic possibilities. Sometimes your router does not offer a function and being able to do so with DD-WRT is life saver. ### 6.
