DaVinci Resolve Pricing FAQs

Generated using AI
Is DaVinci Resolve free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, DaVinci Resolve does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is DaVinci Resolve pricing best suited for?

DaVinci Resolve's pricing structure is best suited for independent creators, small production businesses, and budget-conscious professionals, based on G2 reviewer demographics — the overwhelming majority of reviewers represent small businesses with 50 or fewer employees. G2 users in media production, entertainment, marketing, motion pictures, and e-learning dominate the review base and consistently praise DaVinci Resolve's free tier as sufficient for client work and content creation. The Studio version suits small studios and freelancers wanting advanced AI and collaboration tools without subscription overhead. Mid-market teams in marketing and computer software also appear among G2 reviewers, valuing DaVinci Resolve's color grading and multi-user collaboration for professional deliverables.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of DaVinci Resolve?

G2 reviewers identify several meaningful distinctions between DaVinci Resolve's free and Studio versions. The free version delivers professional editing, color grading, Fusion compositing, and Fairlight audio at no cost, which G2 users across industries describe as sufficient for most production needs. DaVinci Resolve's Studio version, a one-time purchase, unlocks advanced AI features including Magic Mask, noise reduction, and additional neural engine tools. G2 reviewers also note Studio adds collaboration via PostgreSQL-based project sharing, DCP output, stereoscopic tools, and removes the 4K output limitations some users reference. Bundled Studio licenses are available with Blackmagic hardware purchases, which several G2 reviewers in media production mention as a cost-effective acquisition path.

Is DaVinci Resolve considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers overwhelmingly rate DaVinci Resolve as exceptional value, with the majority awarding 5.0/5. The core value driver cited repeatedly is the free version's professional-grade feature depth — G2 users frequently compare it favorably to Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, noting it eliminates subscription fees entirely. Reviewers who switched from Adobe Creative Cloud report saving hundreds of dollars annually. DaVinci Resolve's Studio version is praised as a one-time purchase rather than a recurring subscription, which G2 users in media production and marketing consistently highlight as a decisive advantage. The only value concern noted is the hardware investment required to run DaVinci Resolve smoothly on complex projects.

What do you like best about DaVinci Resolve?

I use DaVinci Resolve for creating publicity or reel, and I find it provides an easy editing tool that's quick, simple, and of quality. I like that you can do anything with it, especially with the greenscreen tools and text tools that give you a lot of ability. It's also cost-effective compared to what I was using before, so it's quite easy for my setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DaVinci Resolve?

I sometimes need to ask the online community to understand how to do things, but it's not much of a problem. Occasionally, it doesn't work as quickly as I would need. Also, I wish it had more reel-friendly possibilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly DaVinci Resolve with Great Performance and an Amazing Magic Mask"
    4.5/5
What do you like best about DaVinci Resolve?

I like how easy it is once you get the hang of it. The UI is user-friendly, and the performance of DaVinci Resolve on the premium version is really great. The one-time purchase also makes it feel more affordable than other editors out there. The AI Magic Mask is probably my favorite feature,I use it a lot, and it makes the work so much easier. I use OBS to record, then integrate that gameplay into Davinci Resolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DaVinci Resolve?

I think DaVinci might seem complex to beginners at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes much easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
