## CYTRIO Reviews
  ### 1. 1 star – Restrictions added after purchase + missing features

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor H. | Web Designer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2025

**What do you like best about CYTRIO?**

The concept of an all-in-one GDPR and cookie consent management tool is good. The interface is fairly straightforward to set up initially.

**What do you dislike about CYTRIO?**

After purchasing, restrictions were added retroactively requiring an “Agency licence” for domains, even though my original AppSumo deal terms did not include this. Some of my own domains were wrongly classified as “third-party” without evidence.

A key feature advertised — weekly cookie scans — has never worked. Support confirmed this is not available. I’ve had to request manual rescans multiple times and now manually check my sites to see if cookies are even detected properly. This adds unnecessary work and leaves me unsure if my sites are truly GDPR compliant.

Support stopped responding after I provided proof of domain ownership and raised the issue of missing features.

**What problems is CYTRIO solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My goal was to ensure GDPR compliance across client and personal websites by automatically managing cookie consent and scans.

  ### 2. Moved away due to attitude

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about CYTRIO?**

It simplified our CCPA and GDPR compliance process dramatically. The cookie consent banner was up in minutes, and the DSAR management is practically on autopilot.

**What do you dislike about CYTRIO?**

I was a happy client until one day I recieved an email informing me they thought I was in breach of the terms of service because I had a number of websites on my plan. Not loads, 11. They asked me to confirm if the domains were all my domains. Aside from 1, a local charity, they all were.

I then get an email back stating "Upon further review we noticed that while you are the registered contact for these domains, these domains are used by your customers. This means that each of these customers must obtain a Cytrio license."

News to me, especially as I'd already confirmed just 1 of the domains was a client, the rest were all my websites.

Turns out they wanted to sell me on some agency plan and thought the best way to do that was call me a liar.

I had provided them with a testimonial to use on their website. I've requested they remove it twice, at the time of writing it's still there. To be clear, I now longer endorse them due to the poor attitude they've shown.

**What problems is CYTRIO solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It automatically detects and categorizes cookies on websites making it very easy to deploy a cookie concent banner

  ### 3. Threaten to have to pay up extra, unless positive review

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2025

**What do you like best about CYTRIO?**

I initially had a great experience with CYTRIO. The support team was responsive, and the AppSumo deal of $300 for unlimited domains was an incredible value—especially since it was explicitly mentioned that it could be used by end customers. I started using CYTRIO 31st of May 2024, and was sent a "sorry to see you go mail" 20th of February 2025. The setup process was straightforward, with customization options for the cookie banner message and colors, allowing me to align the design with my websites. I successfully set it up for 13 sites in total without any major issues.

**What do you dislike about CYTRIO?**

My experience took a negative turn when CYTRIO contacted me, claiming I was violating their terms by supposedly using the platform for end customer domains. They sent this mail 13th of February 2025. This was confusing for two reasons: First, all domains in CYTRIO were owned by me. Second, in the AppSumo deal's Q&A section, they had clearly stated that the tier 3 license allowed use for end customers. Despite multiple emails clarifying my situation, including confirmation that all domains had my contact details, they still restricted my ability to add more domains. They partially admitted their mistake but only agreed to let me continue under the condition that I leave a positive review on G2—which I cannot accept after being wrongfully accused and pressured into writing something positive.

If you're considering CYTRIO, be cautious. I hope they improve their customer service and communication for future clients.

**What problems is CYTRIO solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To show a cookie consent banner on my website. This benefits me so I can ensure compliancy.

  ### 4. Great solution to modern privacy regulations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James C. | Director of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2024

**What do you like best about CYTRIO?**

We have multiple clients which we use CYTRIO for so having a straightforward implementation to client websites is hugely important. CYTRIO is quickly integrated and we then know that we are complying with all the different privacy regulations in the US/EU.

**What do you dislike about CYTRIO?**

Some caching solutions cache the script so it has to be excluded from caching on some systems so it works properly.

**What problems is CYTRIO solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to be able to have our clients websites be compliant with modern privacy regulations as easily as possible, and without having to overwhelm the client with information. Cytrio's integration allows us to quickly implement compliance with cookie consents, and provides an easy to use dashboard to deal with any DSAR requests.

  ### 5. automation and data classification

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen H. | Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2023

**What do you like best about CYTRIO?**

* Reduce manual labor
* Quickly sort data by categories
* enforces data privacy regulations
* easy to connect to data source
* attentive support in time

**What do you dislike about CYTRIO?**

What I like least about this platform is its price per month, because it is too high

**What problems is CYTRIO solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All private data is safe and organized in a more explicit way, reducing manual work.
