I have very complicated product on the backend and setup is very painful. Plugin system is also awesome. Well, the integration with Firefox...I've been waiting for it since the very beginning :) The Cypress team confirms on monthly basis that they are so close...year after year. I test the whole views and interactions between them without real backend (using XHR stubs). I have 170+ test cases in a test suite that runs in less than 10 minutes. I do not have to worry myself about the whole async issues and also, right within my chrome dev tools, I can easily debug my code. Thats a great feature for me. **What do you dislike about Cypress?** I have tried using Cypress with other browsers aside Chrome but I have really found it difficult working with it. I think Cypress needs to also cater for that cross browser support. You don't need to wait for events, easy install (npm and Docker)... **What do you dislike about Cypress?** The worse thing and very important for me is the Browser compatibility. Right now it only supports Chrome. I think would be amazing to have at least Firefox and Edge. **Recommendations to others considering Cypress:** If you are looking for something easy, fast and where you can see each test individually (visual), go to Cypress. However, if you need to think about compatibility with browsers probably you shouldn't. **What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basically e2e testing. We didn't have any because the learning curve was very huge and installing it was very difficult. For example, Puppeteer only supports Chrome and now Firefox, but it's really really hard to install it in Docker and as well to use it. The main benefits have been being able to do e2e testing in a easy way and also visual testing. ### 31. It was always hard to accomplish, not easy and also not stable at all. Cypress is great for web developers, its 100% based on js and having some experience with js and jquery, you will be able to write your test with not much problems Another really good feature is the documentation. In my experience, with my team, we were able to find all the answers to our questions into the docs on the website. Also the issues on github are very well explained **What do you dislike about Cypress?** Not having the support for other browsers than chrome, canary and chromium is the main disadvantage. I had to work on ui paths with several steps and combinations. One of the benefits is that is based on promises, so you can work with the callbacks with no need to handle the life cycles of the web forms (no need to implement waits, delays, etc). ### 36. We require to deliver all tested products so that our client can be happy and reliable on us. Cypress has been very helpful with that to us, the best part is that we can even programmatically handle the UI widgets and it also lets us take control on the network requests. **What do you dislike about Cypress?** There is a different custom section also for which a user is required to complete some specific form. I have tried buying a custom package but it took around 3 weeks for them to deliver. Define in your package.json as a dependency and you are good to use Cypress. No external dependencies required. Secondly, Auto -reloading option of Cypress which is saving a lot of time as we don't have to start the server again to get the changes. It's almost like the hot-reloading. Another thing, Cypress tests are written using Mocha and Chai, the syntax echoes what most Javascript users understand. Last but not least,It's free and open source where you can also contribute :) **What do you dislike about Cypress?** Cypress doesn't support multi browser testing at the moment which is pain for us. It only supports Chrome based browsers at the moment. Cypress eats up lot of resources of the system when you try to run parallel tests. Sometimes the system hangs.
