Covenant Desk Lending Reviews & Product Details

Covenant Desk Lending is a comprehensive software solution designed to streamline and unify the operations of licensed money lenders and finance companies in Hong Kong. It consolidates various stages of the lending process1from initial borrower inquiries to final repayment1into a single, cohesive system, enhancing efficiency and accuracy across all lending activities. **Unified Loan Management:** Traditionally, lenders manage loans across multiple platforms, including spreadsheets for tracking, separate ledgers for balances, and various communication tools for borrower interactions. This fragmented approach can lead to inefficiencies and errors. Covenant Desk Lending addresses this by integrating all these functions into one system, providing a centralized platform where every aspect of a loan1from first contact to final payment1is recorded and accessible. This integration ensures that when a client inquires about their loan, staff can provide accurate information promptly without consulting multiple sources. **Key Features:** - **Enquiry Management:** All borrower inquiries, whether received via phone, WhatsApp, or email, are funneled into a single queue. This system matches returning borrowers to their existing records, ensuring no communication is overlooked. - **Identity Verification (eKYC):** The platform includes robust identity verification processes, such as HKID capture with liveness checks and support for iAM Smart confirmation. Sanctions and PEP screenings are conducted, with results and evidence securely stored against the borrower's profile. - **Credit Decisioning:** Lenders can configure their own scoring and decision rules within the system. It provides a comprehensive view of a borrower's existing loans across all associated companies, aiding in informed decision-making. Affordability inputs and approval reasons are documented and attached to the borrower's record. - **Agreement and Disbursement:** Loan agreements are generated from customizable templates, signed electronically, and stored within the system. Approved terms are captured in a format ready for Credit Data Smart (CDS) reporting, aligning with upcoming regulatory requirements. - **Repayment Management:** The system offers a consolidated view of overdue and upcoming repayments, prioritized by value and days overdue. It supports lender-specific Faster Payment System (FPS) references, facilitating accurate payment reconciliation. Borrowers have the capability to check balances and make payments without direct staff intervention. - **AI-Assisted Document Processing:** The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to read and summarize documents, extracting relevant data into fields for staff review. This feature reduces manual data entry, allowing staff to focus on decision-making rather than administrative tasks. **Daily Operations Interface:** The management portal provides a user-friendly interface where staff can search for borrowers using various identifiers such as HKID, name, phone number, or loan number. This search spans all connected companies, offering a comprehensive view of a borrower's relationship across the organization. The borrower profile consolidates current and past loans, documents, payments, notes, and a detailed history of interactions, ensuring transparency and ease of access. **Data Security and Compliance:** Covenant Desk Lending is designed with a strong emphasis on data security and regulatory compliance. Borrower and loan records reside within the lender's own workspace, with access controlled by role and company. Sensitive information, such as exact HKID lookups, is permission-scoped and audit-logged, with phone numbers masked to protect privacy. The system prepares application, approved terms, and repayment records in a format ready for CDS reporting, ahead of the rules effective 1 June 2027. Importantly, while the software facilitates data structuring, the responsibility for submission remains with the lender. **Integration with Existing Systems:** The platform is built to integrate seamlessly with existing loan ledgers, such as Softmedia or TE Credit. It does not replace these core systems but rather synchronizes borrower, loan, and repayment data, allowing lenders to transition at their own pace without disrupting current operations. **Implementation and Support:** Getting started with Covenant Desk Lending is straightforward. After purchasing a plan, lenders receive a portal link and can register their first staff user, typically within 15 minutes. The system offers various plans tailored to different organizational needs, with options to scale as the business grows. Support levels range from standard to priority, depending on the chosen plan, ensuring that lenders have access to the assistance they need during implementation and ongoing operations. In summary, Covenant Desk Lending offers a unified, efficient, and secure platform for managing the entire lending lifecycle. By consolidating disparate processes into a single system, it enhances operational efficiency, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and provides a seamless experience for both lenders and borrowers.
