It's simple drag and drop format makes the duplication process easy. When creating CDs from audio files (AIF, WAV and MP3 formats), you can move the titles to any order, set the gaps between tracks and even do a little tweaking (adjust volume, EQ, compress and limit each individual track) . Toast is now at version 20 and features both Titanium and Pro versions. The Pro version includes other software such as WinZip and Corel graphic products. Once the software is installed, the user chooses the format (audio disc, DVD, photo) then files can be dragged into any order. With the DVD authoring mode, you can create menus. For photos, there is Akrillic to help enhance photos. There is also Secuire Burn for encrypting the media. I have been using Toast since its early days, primarily for creating audio discs. This has been central for giving clients a error free copy of their music. It is easy to use and has a lot of features that make it a deep dive product. I have created DVDs with enhanced menus and - with a little experimentation - I have made some professional looking DVDs. Toast is part of the digital media software by Roxio, which specializes in audio, video and photo applications (including other video/audio editiing products). Toast is a Mac only product, currently supports the M1 computers and OS systems starting at Mojave to Ventura. **What do you dislike about Toast?** Toast is a powerful product for those seeking to create professional CDs and DVDs with ease. However, they are constantly upgrading their versions and not all versions have performed flawlessly. The current version has been buggy and often needs rebooting to create more than one disc. The DVD component of the software takes time to design a professional looking and operating product. When testing the menu links, it can get frustrating and one might have to start from scratch in order to make the DVD to one's satisfaction. **What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?** Toast is helping me quickly create error free CDs for my clients. The most recent interface upgrade (version 20) has made working with the software much easier and presents a better overall picture of its impressive list of features and capabilities. **What do you dislike about Toast?** The only real issue i have had with toast is in renaming the top level folder on the CD/DVD after draging and dropping a pre-bulit file structure into Toast. The only consistent issue I have run into is it doesn't seem to remember my login. I will reset it, and then have the same issue the next time. At the time, Toast didn't support this. If this has changed, this will make this software a game-changer. Toast has really simplified the process to the point where I have been exclusively using the software since 2008. The simplicity in burning discs from a disc image or ISO folder make it easy to bring in DVDs created in Adobe Encore or even DVD Studio Pro and make the duplications once I've QCed the final disc image. **What do you dislike about Toast?** I wish I could do more customization in Toast so that I don't have to go into Encore. I want more control over my menus and the ability to make the disc look better. We used it primarily for DVD burning and it did the job. However, it left us wanting a little more in the actual construction of the DVD and formatting that is included with other software services. **What do you dislike about Toast?** It seems very basic. If you need a basic DVD burner with a few bells and whistles, Toast does the job. The compression quality seems to be better than iDVD when trying to compress a lot of video time onto one single layer DVD. **What do you dislike about Toast?** The menus are very basic when creating DVDs. There isn't much you can change when making the menu. It would be very nice if the user had more control of the menu creating process. **Recommendations to others considering Toast:** I believe the newest version of Toast has better abilities for more options when creating menus for DVDs. I am hoping to try this version soon to be sure, but I believe Toast is getting a nice face lift for creating DVDs. **What problems is Toast solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to burn basic DVDs of meetings for my work using the toast workflow.
