This tools makes it easy to start collecting your first leads and get those emails out to build momentum. If you want to build a following through email marketing, then this is a great tool to get started. It's easy to use, offers more than enough features that marketers and businesses will want (even if you don't need them yet when you're just starting out). I like the user interface and how you can get pretty much everything done with just a few clicks. No unnecessary steps that can confuse you, this is a straight-forward email marketing tool that's been getting a lot of updates and improvements. **What do you dislike about Kit?** Pricing is a little higher than some other tools. At least it looks like that on the surface. But you're actually NOT paying for duplicate subscribers (one email contact is only counted once even if the email subscribes to different lists/email campaigns). Other email marketing tools count the same email address multiple times. ConvertKit doesn't. One unique email address only counts as one contact, even when it's added to various email lists. **Recommendations to others considering Kit:** I tried many different autoresponders or email automation tools and found Convertkit one of the easiest to use. So it's definitely a good idea to sign up and give it a go. I created a info@gmail account specially because convertkit recommended it and it won't send the verification message. Having to previously link a bunch of tools together to make sure all these various programs communicated so when someone completed an opt-in action, it registered with the email service provider was huge for me. The thing I like best is how easy it is to set up automations. I have several automations setu p for my newsletter subscribers, including adding members to my email lists, a welcome series, and custom RSS feeds based on how people want to receive emails (for every post, daily, or weekly). ConvertKit makes it easy. I like the look of ConvertKit emails and forms and the emphasis on text and not using too many images also. **What do you dislike about Kit?** There was a small learning curve when I started using ConvertKit, for example learning how to use tags. But ConvertKit has lots of helpful tips and guidance in their knowledge base. Twice I had to ask for help in chat and someone responded to me within a few minutes. I needed help figuring out how to set up multiple choice checkboxes for readers so they could select which newsletters they wanted to subscribe to. The employees who responded in the chat directed me to the instructions and I was able to set this feature up easily after reading the links they sent me. **What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?** I run a local news website. My readers want choices for receiving emails. The RSS automation features offered with ConvertKit helped me serve those readers. The deliverability is excellent too, and now that I'm launching a freemium newsletter, I can use ConvertKit to charge premium subscribers. Basically, it's free to use for individuals, and for small businesses, it's very cheap and valuable for money. Another good thing about convertkit is the ease of use, even laymen can use it to create email marketing campaigns and set up the whole process. Another good thing to mention is subscriber management, it offers to segment into 4 categories and it offers to show analytics like how many subscribed, and all, which makes users' life peaceful. **What do you dislike about Kit?** While building the email marketing sequence, the editor is not great, it can be improved. The support videos are not there for people to use and there is no in-person training, if that happens it would be a great support to all the companies out there. In the email editor, there is no spell checker as well, we can see the same feature in many other competitors in the same segment. **Recommendations to others considering Kit:** One of the best marketing automation tools I have ever come across, this is useful for many scenarios. This tool is for technical users rather than normal users as it gives that flexibility over others in the same segment, as people need to know how to insert code snippets in the editor, but that can be learnt as its easy and usable. ### 15. There are many helpful and useful templates to choose from. Plus they will help you have a site page with your own url for easy linking. **What do you dislike about Kit?** The downside is perhaps pricing canbe a bit high and the mobile landing page and form builder is sometimes glitchy. My experience with this builder onmt android smart phone has been frustrating, but on laptop it is easier than most other builders. **What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Convertkit has solved my issue with having visitors bIt those online visitors were not signing up nor buying. If they want to opt in to hear about that launch all they have to do is click the button without re-filling out a form **What do you dislike about Kit?** The price is more for those just getting started, but once you grow your list the price is actually cheaper. The landing pages are not as good as lead pages. You can set up a sequence of emails easily, and new subscribers can work through it at the pace you set, without any direct action from you. This is a huge benefit over other email providers. Eg I can market to all customers that have purchased a specific product or not purchased a specific product. **What do you dislike about Kit?** Adding Emails: You can only use their forms/apps to add customers/prospects to ConvertKit or you have to manually upload them. They do have their own API to allow you to custom build integrations but unlike every other mailing provider with an API, this doesn't include the ability to add people?! So when I realised that their Wordpress app didn't support people registering a Wordpress account and ticking a box to register to a mailing list I thought I would be able to do so via the API. But you can't. So its great if you are small or just want it to do simple out of the box things but anything slightly out of the ordinary or wanting to integrate to a system they don't support? Then you are stuck. So I'm having to manually add in the email addresses into Converkit which is just crazy. Support: Support is quick to respond but their knowledge is very basic. Even though they have an API multiple support people thought an API was their forms you can create an embed on your website?! It took me several weeks to try and get them to understand what I was trying to do with the above. Broadcasting emails: The email template editor is VERY basic and I'm using the new and improved one. Just little things you think they would support but don't. Like being able to upload two images side by side. Or reducing the crazy text padding around text. Price: Seems to be over-priced compared with other competitors. I'm on a $290/yr plan for 1000 contacts and this doesn't even include deliverability reporting. **What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing a quick, fast way to send segmented emails to my customers and prospects and provide drip campaigns so I can put customers onto an email journey once they become a customer. ### 25. Even someone like me, who is tech-savvy and has used almost every major email marketing provider, the CK setup time is great. **What do you dislike about Kit?** Sometimes it would be nice to have the option to create something more "showstopping" for special occasions. The landing page templates also aren't that great - but they'll do and they're great for those without skill or who are short on time. The cost. Now they have a free plan. I feel like they could have had one for years. Eventually, when I purged my list and was starting over, it didn't make sense to pay them $50/mo to manage a handful of names. **Recommendations to others considering Kit:** Know what you want out of your email system before you make a choice. But if you want to send simple, clean, primarily text-based emails, CK is a great choice. **What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?** I switched them from MailChimp years ago when I wanted easier and faster ways to segment my audience without creating multiple lists (thereby counting contacts more than once). This was before MailChimp had a tagging feature. They also had landing pages before MC did (if memory serves me correctly), so it was nice to be able to quickly create a page and tie it to my mailing list. ### 28.
