COMSOL has been utilized for simpler tasks for my lab regarding basic fluid flow in a microfluidic device. Although not used for a complex system, the software has a good setup between the mathematical analysis and inputted 3D design model. Modelling in COMSOL is thereabouts to easy. If you are a beginner, online tutorials on their website is so helpful for basic stuff. However, it is not enough for handling your job, you need to improve by practising. We are modelling chemical reactions by using COMSOL, after that we compare the results with our hand calculations and real reaction results. Comsol allows for creating physics simulations. I have personally used it for acoustics simulations to model plane waves, and in design projects to test various hypotheses.
