## Cody Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful, intuitive chatbot trained on our docs with clear, sourced answers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Cody?**

The best thing about this Cody platform is it is very helpful. This chatbot can be trained on our own company documents, processes, website content, PDFs and other internal knowledge base. Rather than searching through multiple files or asking different team members, I can quickly get answers in a very helpful and conversational way with this platform. I also like that this platform provides sources for the answers, which makes it easier to verify the information even before using it internally. The ability to create different bots for different use cases like sales and marketing, HR, training and other customer support makes this platform is very helpful. Their UI is also modern and intuitive, which makes this platform a clean interface.

**What do you dislike about Cody?**

Still, on certain occasions, their output might need review, especially when the question is complex or even when the uploaded knowledge base is not properly organised. The quality of answers depends heavily on how well the data has been fed to the system and maintained as well. And their pricing should be made bit more transparent along with their features available in every stage. I would also say their integration ecosystem needs to be polished and extended, where 3rd party integration should be seamless.

**What problems is Cody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform helps us by solving the problem on the time spent searching through documents, sop's and other product information for internal processes. This platform also acts like a business knowledge assistant, which can support our teams with instant answers and content creation to troubleshooting and training. Overall this platform helped us by improving our productivity and helped our team members with consistent answers without even depending on any specific human individual.

  ### 2. Great Workflow Boost, Though Suggestions Can Be Inconsistent on Complex Codebases

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Cody?**

What I like best about Cody is how it fits naturally into my development workflow without feeling heavy or intrusive. It’s genuinely helpful for quick code lookups, generating snippets, and understanding unfamiliar parts of a codebase. I also appreciate that it saves time on repetitive tasks - things like boilerplate, refactoring suggestions, or drafting small utilities are much faster.

Another big plus is that it feels context-aware enough to be useful without constant hand-holding. It doesn’t replace deep thinking (and shouldn’t), but it’s a solid productivity boost when you’re moving fast. Overall, it’s a practical tool that adds convenience and speed to day-to-day development work.

**What do you dislike about Cody?**

What I dislike about Cody is that it can be inconsistent in the depth and accuracy of its suggestions. Sometimes the output is spot-on, but other times it feels generic or slightly off-context, which means I still need to review and adjust the code carefully.

It also struggles a bit with more complex, multi-file changes or deeper architectural questions. In those cases, the suggestions can be surface-level rather than truly understanding the broader system. Finally, I’d like to see better performance and smoother handling of larger codebases - occasionally it feels slower than expected.

Overall, it’s useful, but there’s still room for improvement in reliability and contextual awareness.

**What problems is Cody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cody helps reduce the time I spend on repetitive or low-leverage tasks - things like writing boilerplate, drafting small helper functions, or looking up patterns across the codebase. Instead of context-switching to documentation or searching through multiple files manually, I can get quick suggestions directly in my workflow.

It’s also useful for onboarding into unfamiliar parts of a system. When I’m working in a new module or revisiting older code, Cody helps me understand structure and intent faster, which shortens the ramp-up time.

The biggest benefit for me is productivity and focus. It doesn’t eliminate the need for careful review, but it speeds up iteration and lets me spend more time on higher-level problem-solving instead of mechanical coding tasks.

  ### 3. Cody boosts productivity without breaking my flow.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Utkarsh S. | Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Cody?**

Cody understands and integrates into my codebase really well. It’s super helpful for code refactoring which I do very often and generates code snippets that too optimised that saved hours of my time. Moreover, with just a click it allows multiple features such as generating unit tests which I use too frequently. I don't have to switch between ChatGPT or other LLM and explain it the whole codebase when I have Cody that is already implemented in my code and does my job easily.

**What do you dislike about Cody?**

Autocomplete sometimes overlaps with my IDE’s native suggestions, causing minor friction. The available credits should be mentioned in the interface.

**What problems is Cody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cody helps me quickly understand unfamiliar parts of large codebases which I often get in my work, saving me from digging through files manually which initially used to take tons of my time. It speeds up repetitive tasks like writing unit tests and refactoring code. By being context-aware, it reduces the time I spend explaining things to external tools like ChatGPT, keeping everything within my dev environment.

  ### 4. AI Coding assistant

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SARAYU B. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Cody?**

No credit card required for a free trail. Support for team collaborations on prompts and code generated. No need to pass the context multiple times. Simple tool like integration with frequently used IDEs like VSCode and visual studio.

**What do you dislike about Cody?**

Would have been better if it could also read from the terminal when a program is being executed to debug any errors reported. User had to manually copy the error from the terminal for it to analyse.

**What problems is Cody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps in generating unit test cases for a given program. Autocompletes parts of logic with a great understanding in context and requirement. Helps in understanding and debugging project level issues, suggests suitable workarounds. Generates complete steps right from coding the logic to executing the program. Best feature is we can choose from a bunch of open source LLM AI models based on the requirement like gpt4.0, Gemini etc., which is not available in other AI coding tools. Easily available as an extension in most of the IDEs like VSCode, VisualStudio , IntelliJ etc.,

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Cody?**

I like the way I organize my chats, since it is very chaotic for me to use chatgpt and not know where the conversation I had about a specific topic is.
The implementation is very easy, both in the web version and in my IDE, which makes my job as a programmer much easier. I have easily integrated it into my IDE and it has responded wonderfully.
I really like the technical support because it is very easy to access, it has a chat tool that responds in a reasonable time. They also have a discord channel that I like because it has very useful resources.

**What do you dislike about Cody?**

I don't really understand how credits work, and I can't find a clear site that explains this, since I have used this tool frequently and have created several bots that have helped me in the free version.

**What problems is Cody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a frequent user of chatGPT, however I have a number of conversations on specific topics that I would like to organize because most of them deal with specific topics and I want to take advantage of the AI's memory, with Cody I can organize this in a more productive way.
