## CodinGame Reviews
  ### 1. Coding game help me in learning, practice of programming skills. solving coding puzzles and games.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akanksha R. | Web Development Intern, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2025

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

The best was Challenges presented in form of the games and the coding puzzles, and the different career opportunities, languages support available.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Predefined challenges may limit leaner creativity.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It benefitted me on as hands on practice and with the instant feedback as it gave the career advancement too.

  ### 2. Among standardized programming assessments, this one really stands out.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob J. | Principal Engineer / Engineering Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2023

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

The interface is clean and easy to navigate. The questions seem well targeted and realistic, without catering to overly-niche domain knowledge or wrote memorization. The coding exercises were effective and reliable, and reasonably easy to understand, although the Java exercise I attempted did not clarify the criteria for the desired output very well.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

It seems like the time limits are a little too short, and favor speed readers and rote memorization over analytical skill and attention to detail. Like most standardeized assessments, it also struggles to capture the skill one might display in a real-world software engineering environment, but not as badly as most of them do.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More and more companies are using standardized assessments to screen technical candidates, which is a bit of a double-edged sword. I find a lot of them make basic mistakes like favoring rote memorization, or catering to an overly narrow set of domain expertise. Many of them are also difficult to navigate or render code poorly, making it hard to read and understand. If I'm going to have to take a standardized assessment, this is a good one. It seems to target broad, basic understanding of topics, and it's clean and easy to navigate, and feels like it's assessing something closer to real-world skill than most of the others.

  ### 3. Easy and fun

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yurii U. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

It's a very agile and easy-to-use platform, I enjoyed passing the test there!

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Nothing to say here, it satisfies all my needs.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It improves my dev skils and allowed me to successfully pass a test for the technical interview.

  ### 4. Codingame through the lens of a company that uses the platform on a daily basis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nuno N. | IT-Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

Codingame has been a great tool to assess the Technical Skill of every candidate we talk with.

Also, it's not only about the service itself, but the way it is delivered by the team. Recommend to try it out!

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Hard to tell about it, because the dialog works out very well.

All the suggestions, all the issues that happen, they're available through various channels, and they solve it on time!

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Codingame has been really helpful when it comes to Assess the Candidates' Technical Skill. It's been really determinant to solve that need of ours that we have.

  ### 5. Reliable and straight-forward

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2023

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

Focused interface, good user experience.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

I would insert a "Back" button next to "Submit" so I would not have to hover back to the top of the screen and check other questions.

Additionally, a completion % bar would be good so I can quickly track how much is still left to completion.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Review tech knowledge

  ### 6. Very good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saskia H. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

You can program in a IDE and see instant results. Also you can see what tests are not working yet.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Sometimes a bit slow by showing the documentation.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To set up Codin Games with feedback and show this to the recruiter

  ### 7. A good way to evaluate the technical and adaptation level of the developer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michaël M. | Junior web developer (looking for a job), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

The timer is a positive pressure to assess the person's stress management and organization before the test. In addition, a tutorial part allows the user to prepare for the exercise, so no unpleasant surprises. The exercises and questions have various levels and allow the person who analyzes them before chaining them to choose an order to minimize the loss of points.
Very good job

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Lack of an IDE to help answer the quizzes (usefulness will depend on the level and functioning of the person).

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It depends on the questions and exercises: In my case the company adapted the quiz to be really representative of the development environment, so it was fine. But for quizzes with gamification, it can disturb the people who didn't practice directly on CodinGame and be prejudicial on the real technical level of the person.

  ### 8. Highly engaging tests for coding and algorithms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolae S. | Frontend Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

It's friendly with the developer and allows him to code in a modern IDE online - increasing the chances he can prove his actual skills.
Neat display of coding progress, not just the final result.
As a developer, I code on CodinGame as a hobby.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Does not cover theoretical questions or scenarios that can't be expressed in 15 mins of coding (architecture, solution design, soft skills)

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Technical screening

  ### 9. Interesting and entertaining

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** khalid b. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2022

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

Clash code, the certification assessments, and the way the overall project is built.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Nothing to mention right now. I could probably suggest a smaller period to assess a language again :), a week rather than a month? probably?

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I skip this for now as I'm not using this service right now. I use the main CodinGame benefits for student devs.

  ### 10. Very good platform to continue progressing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodolphe L. | Développeur web / assistant chef de projet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

The games and exercises are really interesting.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

I hate recruitment tests, I don't find them relevant.

Doing an exercise with a predefined time and the pressure to understand on the first reading is really very difficult for me.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I try to solve the exercises and games. I think I am improving in problem-solving.

  ### 11. Good experience during my technical test

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent B. | Principal Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

I liked the overall look, it's pretty user friendly and they associate some of your test with visual result (like robot taking crates)

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

I didn't like the IDE. As an experienced programmer I have all my habits on the IDE I'm using for coding. I did all the coding on my IDE and copy-paste it in CodinGame. The IDE is fine but when you have experience, you have a bunch of shortcut that make you super efficient.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dont know what to say to that question...

  ### 12. Is a good platform for beginners

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Diego A. | Développeur cloud (Data engineer), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2022

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

Is easy to use when you are in a challenge and has a big community, is easy to solve problems and is awesome for beginners in competitive coding challenges

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Need some functionalities that other platforms have eg. statistics about our time coding, a better UX/UI in the home.

**Recommendations to others considering CodinGame:**

Is awesome if you find other alternatives and if you are a beginner

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I practice for a lot of interviews and my logic and time coding has improved a lot.

  ### 13. Great tool as a replacement for over the phone coding questions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vladyslav K. | Unemployed, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2022

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

I took the coding test and liked how the whole dev environment was laid out. Especially the practice run. It showed me that the platform records every action, even tabbing out, which prevented me from accidentally doing so, which would raise concerns about me looking up the answers. A crucial detail to know beforehand.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Nothing really. The platform was easy to use for the person being tested, and I can see how beneficial it is for employers.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would much rather use this platform than have to do a call where I scribble my code on paper, and then read it out line by line back to the interviewer.

  ### 14. Amazing system- amazing screening

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beeri S. | Chief People Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2021

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

Eazy to use, you can work on large scale of screening . Many features.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Really hard to say. Maybe they need to add more analytic dashboards and more tests which is not related to code.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screening process become more easy and effective. We using different tests and tools which provide more productive candidates

  ### 15. Python mentor at openclassroom and phd candidate in administration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Coby J. | Unreal Engine Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

CodinGame is a fantastic site for doing both code for testing, challenges and programming tests. It uses a lot of real-world examples, and the quizzes are very detailed for the level of work you are doing.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

I was not too fond of the amount of time given for some of the tests versus other tests of the same or lesser difficulty.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used CodinGame for upskilling myself, as well as used it to help other friends understand some areas they may not have as much experience with programming.

  ### 18. Great experience using taking an English Assessment test at CodinGame platform

I completed an English Assessment test designed on the company's platform, and it was a great experience. CodinGame make the selection process of the best candidates fairer

  ### 19. Very nice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

It is a fun way to test the knowledge someone has. Also, you can give time to answer the question as you like.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

In the java section, it wasn't what I was used to when I usually do code. But it is a bit harsh to take away because of that.

**Recommendations to others considering CodinGame:**

Don't worry, and it is amusing to use.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps you learn to code and see if one knows how to code.

  ### 20. An outstanding site to practice programming

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam A. | Sr Analyst/Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2020

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

There is a lot to do on CodinGame, and it is a great site for programmers of all skill levels to go and learn and practice. You can work on programming puzzles that are in varying skill levels from easy to very hard. If you need a bigger challenge there are bot programming competitions where you write AI bots to play games against the bots of other programmers. If you want something quick you can to 5 minute coding battle in Clash of Code. These are my favorites, and there is more than that to do on the site.

The browser based code editor on CodinGame is perhaps the best I've seen on line, but if you don't like that CodinGame has a Chrome plugin that allows you to sync with your local file system which allows you to use your favorite IDE. CodinGame supports a large list of programming languages, from the very popular to the not so popular. If you want to learn a new programming language this a great place to practice using it.

CodinGame has a very active community of programmers. You can always find help in the Forums or using the built in chat feature. It really is a very active site.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

The bot programming usually requires more code than the puzzles, but everything has to be submitted in a single file. When you get to thousands of lines of code it begins to be difficult have to scroll back and forth through the file. It would be nice if you could submit a multi-file project.

**Recommendations to others considering CodinGame:**

It's a great site for new and experienced programmers. You won't be disappointed.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CodinGame to keep sharp with languages that I'm not currently using with work. I do most of my coding on CodinGame using either Go or Kotlin, and recently I started using Java again after not using it for 10 years. It has also been a site where I learned the most about artificial intelligence topics, and there are some very good articles when it comes to game AI.

  ### 21. Pretty good platform to practice coding.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anuj S. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

I loved the environment they provided to write code and queries.
It gives suggestions for each keyword or predefined methods as well.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

When attempting an online test. Each and every test case is hidden.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven't faced any problem during coding.
It's time clock keeps you consistent while writing code.

  ### 22. Codingame is fun to participate in.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oscar N. | Freelance Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

I love that you have the option to work on solo challenges and also to compete with other developers. Creating AI's that compete playing a game against another AI's is a great experience. You are not evaluated by your specific knowledge of some specific subject, but by your ability to solve a problem with the tools available. And time is not a factor most of the time; most contests last 10 days, so you have plenty of time to think and improve your code.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

The only part I dislike is that many participants just copy & paste code they find online (published by other codingamers).

**Recommendations to others considering CodinGame:**

It's a great tool to develop your programming skills.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had the chance to learn Machine Learning algorithms, perfect my use of some language I'm just learning by doing fun challenges. Myself, I've perfected my use of Scala, Kotlin, and Ruby by participating in contests using them. At the end of the 10 days, I'm much more proficient in the use of the language.

  ### 23. A fun way to learn

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mickael N. | Architecte logiciels, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

You can improve our skills, explore type of algorithm that may not be your core day to day work, or simply learn new languages by comparing how you would do in your favorite one and the new one.
There is a lot of way for you to enjoy the platform.
You can even just do dirty code to quickly resolve as mush as puzzles as you can if your more interested in badges and gamification, than code quality. It's up to you to found the fun that match your profile.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Debugging is sometetimes difficult.
Even if they do great for a web application, and that when I discuss with colleagues I tell them that it's a great opportunity to improve their TDD skills since sometimes be able to debug outside the plateform is a real time saver.
Maybe one day they will found how to run a debugger with break points in a browser? I wonder if this can be achieved with web assembly? Not an easy task, but I hope they found a way to do that one day.

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improve my TDD skills
Be able to try some algorithm that I've heard but not had the chance to practice in my job, and without creating all an apps or imagine myself a scenario where it can be applied. I just had to found the right puzzle or challenge.

  ### 24. Learning using Codingame

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thibaut P. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2019

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

I love the Clash of Code feature, that allows me to spend no more than 15 minutes on a short challenge. After regularly using this feature I found myself using new tricks that I learn while using it. I've learned the latest syntax updates of Javascript (language I use professionally), I was able to refresh my Python skills and I learned a couple of tricks in Bash as well.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

Sometimes I get stuck and it's frustrating, but thankfully you can often see the winning solutions of other people to learn.

**Recommendations to others considering CodinGame:**

As a software engineer, just create an account now, it's free and it's going to help you learn a lot.
You can start with their language tutorials when starting a language from scratch. Or directly jump into Clash of Code for more adrenaline and to test your skills under pressure.
There are also longer competitions that last for a week or two, which is perfect to do a slightly longer project.
Whatever level you are, you will find a way to learn on Codingame!

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to learn regularly, which is something extremely important in a computer science engineer career.
I've also been able to learn a lot from the community who is helping me when I need it (thanks to the website chat and the discord community).

  ### 25. Awesome platform to learn and training code

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugo C. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2020

**What do you like best about CodinGame?**

I like better the bot programming challenges

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

They don't have option to share new my achievements on linkedin

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving bot programming, it is good to keep my mind fresh on the subject

  ### 26. Platform regular user

Games very well thought through. No bug. Very easy to use. Great to improve yourself on algorithm and coding skills ! Competition really interesting.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

The tutorial should include a part for people who never coded before. That way, a person could learn, completely from scratch, to code this platform.

**Recommendations to others considering CodinGame:**

Go for it, no second thought !

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Puzzles and competition games. Improving a lot my algorithm and coding skills.

**What do you dislike about CodinGame?**

The logs of our programs. I understand they can only store a maximum amount of data but we need to have accurate logs to debug/improve our programs

**What problems is CodinGame solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logics, creativity, optimizations !
