What do you like best about Codeanywhere?

Codeanywhere is very good to use because you can sync your work from google drive or Dropboz which saves you a lot of work and a lot of time.

Codeanywhere also gives it's users full terminal access

Codeanywhere also works with GitHub and you can login from GitHub account Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Codeanywhere?

Things I disliked about codeanywhere is that you don't have a debugging option and it's so hard going through the code without it,

The language support is also not very clear,

The app didn't get updated in over 2 ans a half years.

The security is very bad the 2FA is the worst and I wouldn't put important works there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Codeanywhere?

Codeanywhere is giving me full ssh access, this allows to have full access of your container which is awesome for the modern developer, you would have a subdomain to test your website, it has pre built phpmyadmin which saves you time installing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The service is unreliable. My data has been inaccessible for 15 days. I now suspect irreversible data loss. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The company tries to seem like they are in California, but in reality, all operations are conducted from Croatia. There don't appear to be any full time staff helping customers. Support requests typically take several weeks to resolve. I lost several weeks of work on this platform when my containers went down and did not come back up. "Programmer on the go"

What do you like best about Codeanywhere?

As a programmer who uses computers at work, home and when traveling having a an IDE that saves its state allows me to drop work on a dime and pick up where I left off. I like being able to transfer files between servers without having to download them first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Codeanywhere?

Customization of the interface is lacking. Only dark or light and a few color and font options. No syntax checking. Only limited to their virtual machine templates and no sudo access to install other services. When you close out or idle too long, your SSH connections are also closed. Every couple days or so I have an issue with saving a file where I have to refresh the page to resolve it, very minor but still an inconvenience. I have mentioned it to them, but it hasn't been fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Codeanywhere:

Great product for someone who needs a cloud IDE and needs to spin up a virtual machine to test or develop something quick. If you're wanting a bunch of customization, I would look elsewhere. I haven't needed to use their support, so not sure how quickly they can respond, but I haven't had any issues that weren't solved by refreshing the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Codeanywhere solving and how is that benefiting you?

Although we have a subscription, it has been cheaper than ordering licenses on our computers plus install time on new ones. Server issues are easy to SSH into without having to remember a password or have a key installed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
