"Granular Control Meets GDPR Needs, But Mobile Experience Lags"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cocoon Data?

What I value most is the granular control over who sees what and for how long. I can send a sensitive campaign report to an external partner, set it to “view only”, require a passcode, and make the link expire in 7 days. If that partner leaves the project early, I revoke access remotely – no awkward calls, no begging them to delete files. The audit trail gives me real peace of mind. I see exactly when the recipient opened the file, for how long, and from which IP address. For a German agency handling client performance data, that level of accountability isn't optional – it's required. Setup was incredibly simple. Sign‑up took two minutes, and I had our first secure share live in five minutes. No training needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cocoon Data?

A few things could be better. The interface feels dated – it's functional, but not as polished as modern sharing tools. New clients sometimes need a quick tour. Mobile experience is clunky. Recipients can view files on their phones, but managing shares or checking audit logs on mobile is painful. Pricing for larger teams adds up. For our 100+ person agency, the per‑user cost is noticeable. A mid‑market tier would help. No native integration with our CRM (HubSpot). We'd love to share files directly from HubSpot. Workarounds via links are fine, but native would save clicks and reduce friction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong End-to-End Security, but Setup and Usability Need Refinement"
3/5
What do you like best about Cocoon Data?

Cocoon Data emphasizes end-to-end encryption, meaning your data is protected both in transit and at rest. This is especially valuable for businesses handling sensitive information like financial, legal, or engineering data. Unlike many complex security tools, Cocoon Data’s platform (often associated with secure file sharing solutions) is designed to be user-friendly. You get high security without making workflows complicated. It enables teams to collaborate safely across locations, which is ideal for remote work or global businesses. You can share files while maintaining full control over access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cocoon Data?

One downside of Cocoon Data is that its initial setup can be complex for new users, and it still lacks some advanced usability features compared to more mature platforms. However, these trade-offs come with its strong focus on security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Protection with Steep Learning Curve"
4/5
What do you like best about Cocoon Data?

I like that Cocoon Data simplifies something that is normally complex: data security. I use data encryption a lot because it ensures that the information is protected at all times, even if there are unauthorized accesses or breaches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cocoon Data?

From my experience, I think what should be improved is the learning curve, as it is complicated to fully understand how to integrate everything. And it was somewhat complicated, as I mentioned to you, the learning curve was somewhat steep, but once you understand it, it is manageable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Uncompromising Security, Needs Enhanced Collaboration Tools"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Cocoon Data?

I like Cocoon Data's uncompromising security and full data control in one easy-to-use platform. It's built from the ground up for handling sensitive, regulated content, allowing me to set granular permissions, restrict downloading, printing, and forwarding, add watermarks, and set time-limited access. I appreciate its strong compliance and audit readiness, as every action is logged in a clear, immutable audit trail, making compliance audits faster and less stressful. It's easy to get started quickly, even for non-technical users, and the onboarding experience is far simpler than many competing secure data platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cocoon Data?

Some advanced collaboration features are more limited than in mainstream platforms. Real-time co-editing, version comparison, and built-in commenting are not as robust. The focus seems to be on secure sharing and control rather than heavy collaborative editing. I'd like to see native inline commenting and highlighting directly on documents, lightweight real-time co-editing for common file types, while preserving encryption and access control, and better visual version comparison so teams can see changes at a glance. "Effortless Security with Seamless Collaboration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cocoon Data?

I use Cocoon Data to work with sensitive data safely and confidently. It makes collaboration easy without moving data around, and I trust it to keep everything secure while still letting me analyze, share insights, and get real work done with others. Cocoon Data helps me avoid the headache of moving sensitive data between people and systems. I can collaborate with others, stay compliant, and reduce risk, all while keeping control of the data and getting work done faster and with more confidence. What I like most about Cocoon Data is how reassuring it feels to use. I can work closely with others and still get meaningful insights from sensitive data, without stressing about security, compliance, or losing control of it. I also like how easy Cocoon Data is to pick up and use. It fits smoothly into how I already work, makes collaborating simple, and doesn’t feel clunky or overengineered, so teams are more likely to actually use it day to day. Getting started with Cocoon Data was pretty easy. There were a few steps to connect everything, but the instructions were clear, and the platform felt intuitive, so I could get up and running without any stress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cocoon Data?

Like most platforms, it’s not perfect. Some of the more advanced features can take a little time to get your head around, and smoother onboarding or clearer guidance would make it easier for new users to hit the ground running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Security with Some Setup Challenges"
4/5
What do you like best about Cocoon Data?

I like Cocoon Data for the level of control it provides over sensitive information, even after sharing it. The file-level encryption is extremely valuable because security travels with the document, not just relying on servers or storage locations. I appreciate the ability to define detailed permissions, such as restricting downloads, printing, or forwarding, which helps prevent misuse. The option to revoke access at any time adds another layer of confidence, especially when working with external partners. Cocoon Data is well-suited for compliance-focused environments, helping meet strict data protection standards, and combines strong security with practical usability, which makes it easier to collaborate without constantly worrying about data leaks or unauthorized access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cocoon Data?

The initial setup and onboarding process can feel complex, especially for users who are not familiar with advanced security tools. Some features require training to fully understand, which can slow down adoption for new team members. The user interface, while functional, could be more modern and intuitive to make navigation easier. Integration options with commonly used productivity and cloud tools also feel somewhat limited. What do you like best about Cocoon Data?

Admired this program's remarkable accuracy and ease of use in language, from diagnostics to delivering a highly efficient program with brilliant adaptive programming for a powerful execution through intervals and diagnostics as a computer program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cocoon Data?

It seems to be a well-diversified professional program, although I believe there is a lack of explanatory skill sets for most levels. Adults need to examine and explain the dynamics of how this platform works due to the complexity of the programming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
