I love how everything is customizable and it has a huge and active community that shares tips and downloadable assets to make Reaper even better. **What do you dislike about Cockos?** It is a huge learning curve and to find some of the functions can be like looking for a needle in a haystack! Luckily for us, there are some great folks that do YouTube tutorials on everything you could ever imagine doing with the software. Easy to understand and follow tutorials too! **What problems is Cockos solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cockos Reaper is my go-to Digital Audio Workstation. It does all my creative production and arrangement, editing, mixing and mastering. It is a solid product that is sturdy and reliable, plus it is very affordable compared to it's competitors in the niche of DAWs. ### 2. The best feature of the software is that we can move the screen capture frame while recording. With LICEcap you get a nice GIF which can be uploaded to ClickUp, Gitlab, Slack with the utmost ease. **What do you dislike about Cockos?** The interface is a little antiquated. The latest version still needs to be optimized for MacOS. **Recommendations to others considering Cockos:** Give it a try! **What problems is Cockos solving and how is that benefiting you?** Taking screen caps of websites for bug reports, and being able to drag them directly into the ticket for the developer to watch a live demo in GIF of the problem is amazing, both for me and the developer. ### 6. It is particularly useful with short time evidence. The application allows you to select the frame rate of the gif and playing with that you can have a very small size, perfect to be attached and send. **What do you dislike about Cockos?** For me, it loses utility when I need to make long recordings, since the nature of the gif, when you reproduce it the course of the video can't be stopped, advanced or delayed. **Recommendations to others considering Cockos:** It's a very good tool, easy and symple to use. If you need to record a .gif this is the perfect tool. **What problems is Cockos solving and how is that benefiting you?** Capture software bug evidence for reports. I love being able to show clients how to use our software in a step by step visual. **What do you dislike about Cockos?** I dislike that I cannot pull it up over a full screen. **What problems is Cockos solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is much easier for our clients across the world to understand how to fix their problems, rather than rely on a common language. It does one thing, but it does it very well. I also like that the app is lightweight and launches almost instantly. **What do you dislike about Cockos?** The app icon looks old-fashioned, you can even see individual pixels. Just changing the icon would make the app look more modern. **What problems is Cockos solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it for collaboration with the team and documentation: * I can post a screencast, and the team can provide feedback on the functionality which is still in progress without getting my changes. * I use screencasts in project documentation on GitHub. Folks think I'm kidding when I mention the name. I do wish the software was a little more robust, but for basic capture it is superb. **Recommendations to others considering Cockos:** Make sure that you review all captures before showing others to make sure that only what you are trying to demonstrate is captured in the movements. **What problems is Cockos solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have many users who learn by visual means. LICEcap provides me the ability to present "how-to" sessions that help these kinds of learners understand the instructions. It is also nice to be able to post the capture later and other users who cannot attend meetings can review the materials on their own machines, in the own time and can review anytime the need to. ### 13.
