What do you like best?

Cludo's interface is fairly easy to use. Easy to tailor results and set rankings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Site search performing poorly is our most-received complaint about our website from our users. They expect it to perform just as well as Google or Bing. Cludo has said that the largest reason we're seeing poor results is because the quality of our content (my team consists of two people and many web authors creating content for nearly 20,000 pages).

It seems that my team and I have to practically tailor every result to make sure it's returning relevant pages, and we frankly don't have time for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Definitely evaluate your options. Google and Azure both offer very competitive offerings, especially considering their price points. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I was investigating an error related to Cludo search for my client when I contacted Cludo to look into it. The response from Cludo was swift and positive. They were able to pin point the root cause of the error and eventually fix the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The timezone difference between us and the Cludo team can be frustrating at times since sometimes we want quick resolution of the issues. What do you like best?

Nothing big to mention. Few of the minor issues we faced in the search output has been fixed by the excellent, proactive Support team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have around 9000 different pages in our Documentation Website with several publications, sub-publications and different versions of them. It's very complicated to fetch relevant content for a search term using various different scenarios and categorize them with proper filter settings. What do you like best?

I have been a customer for approximately 6 months. I have been very pleased with Cludo's customer service. My questions are always answered in a timely and knowledgeable manner. Their support team worked with me extensively to configure and fine-tune our particular content management system to work well with Cludo. The user interface is very well designed and intuitive. We have a large website with decades of information, so the site search and insights has been invaluable in finding search terms that users are typing so that we can tailor our content accordingly. We have been able to use page rankings to spotlight news alerts as well as certain search results we felt would be most beneficial. What do you like best?

Cludo is easy to use - user experience for those administering search service and for end users making searches on our sites was my highest priority. Cludo has been good for both. The search results are good, it was really easy to implement and it has been easy to customize for our needs.

I've also been really happy with their support. Starting with our initial contact with sales, Cludo was faster to respond and more helpful than the other vendors we were considering. Of course, a good sales experience doesn't always translate into a good experience after the fact but in this case, it did. Their support folks have been fast to respond and very knowledgeable then I've contacted them and our account rep regularly checks in and they periodically do a review of our account with us to suggest how we can improve our search, they go over new features and changes and ask for feedback.

Finally, as a higher ed institution, accessibility was a must have. Cludo was able to answer our questions about accessibility for their product and was the first to get us a VPAT. Many of their competitors didn’t even know what that was. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

For someone who is using the API - the documentation was accurate but would really benefit from having code examples. Better yet, small proof of concept applications using the API would be great.

Their support pointed me to some example javascript in one of their Git repos and I was eventually able to figure things out from there. I'm sure a real rockstar js developer or someone who writes code for json APIs on a regular basis could have glanced at the API docs and built from there but I needed a little more handholding to get started. Especially since there aren't (currently) code examples or questions in the usual places online that help someone new who is just getting started on something like this (StackOverflow, GitHub, etc.). What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We had been paying for Google site search. When we learned that they were discontinuing their paid service, we started looking for other options. At about the same time, we started redesigning our sites and wanted to find a way to build custom search functionality into different sections of our sites. For example, having a filterable search for experts, or one for degree options. We manage the websites for five colleges and numerous centers and institutes, each with their own sites. There are often cases where we need a filterable search on one site that pulls info from other related sites within our institution. Other features that were important to us included accessibility, on-demand indexing, the option to quickly boost or feature results if needed, ease of use (for admins and searchers), cost, great documentation and support. We were utilizing Google Site Search but when that was discontinued we were looking for a solution that was easy to implement and manage. We were able to utilize this platform on multiple language sites and the implementation was very straightforward. The biggest benefit we realized was reviewing search terms that were returning no results and using that information to update content. What do you like best?

- Love the recommended content listings that appear when a user starts typing in their search term to the input

- The ability to set preferred content to show when people search certain terms

- Can take some time to set up depending on your needs, but this is expected, especially if you need something custom

What do you like best?

Cludo's suite of optimization tools allow us to pick the exact level of search optimization we need, be it awareness banners or quick links, to ensure we are acting on ineffective and no-result searches. What do you like best?

The support the Cludo team has provided to us has been excellent. Implementation was a breeze, any further updates have been handled quickly. The search does exactly what we expected it to do. For marketing or technical sites this product works really well. The ability to create filters & tag content is pretty extensive and Cludo has been able to meet all our requirements.

The admin UI provides great tool to allow conversion impromvents and the banners features is great to allow marketing to extend its reach into a users search journey.

What do you dislike?

The only fault so far has been our ability to add custom analytics to further track user behaviour.

However, Cludo has added the banner analytics feature which is a good step forward.

Ease of use, excellent stats on usage, setup all sorted by Cludo. No coding skills were necessary.

The ability to add banners and ensure the pages we want to appear at the top of the search results for certain keywords.
