With Cinchy, you can easily connect disparate data sources and manage data relationships without complex coding or manual data entry. It shifts dependency away from IT and Development teams, putting data ownership in the hands of business users and 'citizen developers' while maintaining centralized governance and security. **What do you dislike about Cinchy?** The platform itself is 'Cinchy' to use. However, it is a self-hosted application, and the installation process is rather complex. The existing documentation is well done, but it assumes a very high level of technical knowledge and some advanced features aren't fully explained. **What problems is Cinchy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cinchy has helped to bridge the gap while we migrate and modernize our legacy systems. Cinchy makes an excellent back-end for applications, and we run several key operational workflows from it, including rental contracts and warehouse management. It centralizes and transforms our product data, ready for syndication to e-commerce and marketplace channels, using integration and sync capabilities. The core platform does all that for you. Applications become thin skins on top of all that. **What do you dislike about Cinchy?** Hard to determine exactly what it is that Cinchy does without a LOT of reading. **Recommendations to others considering Cinchy:** Use Cinchy on the very next capability build project and you'll be sold. Don't get caught up with the idea that you have to make a complete architecture change. **What problems is Cinchy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cinchy's autonomous data model enables me to extend my schema without breaking all of my apps. My apps are simply developed skins on top of my data. I can much more quickly create apps (visual reprentations of my data - like KPIs) than any other method I've seen (even the best low-code frameworks). ### 6. The application is very easy to navigate, use and manage. The features are so vast, with continuous improvements and updates, which makes it a leading application to use in any organisation. It integrates well into other applications/systems, easy to embedd into new and existing business process and overall best-in-class for collaboration. CINCHY can be used as the 'central fabric' of your data management hub, where you can begin to dyamically interact with your data in real time, cut, paste, slice and dice then share with other stakeholders. This means it can easily solve issues around entity relationships, hierarchy structures, master data managment and managing data governance workflows. **What do you dislike about Cinchy?** Easy access to useful knowledge hints and article (CINCHY manual of academy), would be nice to have. Also having suggestive prompts with regards to how to better use a function would be great. It increases overall interactivity on the platform. 'Clear moduling' - it would be nice to creare a clear delineation for business user functions and technology user functions. **Recommendations to others considering Cinchy:** Worth considering. CINCHY makes the art if the impossible...possible. Will reduce uncessary project timelines required for coding, setup and configuration. **What problems is Cinchy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Opening up data within siloed or 'closed' systems and applications to users - mostly non-IT users. Allowing stakeholders/business users to actually manage their own data, set up controls and governance etc. The benefits is that CINCHY allows for value to be immediately realised, through the genius engineering, you can set up connections to databases quicky, faster and more efficiently, whilst you have a well designed UI to help manage your data effectively. Also gives the ability to create a one stop solution for business needs around data, e.g a central landing page for accessing reports, data glossaries, updates and notifications on data changes and even user managed reference data tables that can be hosted by creator and shared with select user groups. ### 7. In partifular it helped us: -Consolidate siloed data from different applications into one central location -Enabled us to build sophisticated reports and dashboards to help support better decision making -Helped to speed up the time of integration between different applications and tables Ultimately we were able to remove our pain points with respect to data. Primarily, we reduced the time to create reports and dashbaords from a minimum of 4 weeks to 1-2 business days. We finally had access to data in one central location for the entire business to ensure that we were reporting on one data set - improving our overall consistency from a reporting perspective. **What do you dislike about Cinchy?** Because of our organization's security standards, it took some time to implement cinchy in our AWS environment. Also it took us time to open up ports and IP addresses so that CInchy could access our databases and servers. **Recommendations to others considering Cinchy:** If you are interested in saving time and money when considering data warehousing solutions prioritize Cinchy. The investment that you make in data will accelerate your growth and pay dividends long-term. Cinchy is the ultimate data fabric technology in the market. **What problems is Cinchy solving and how is that benefiting you?** When we initially started in our data journey there were a variety of problems that we had. In particular, we had no central storage for all of our data. Data was siloed in a variety of applications and warehouses and it was impossible to report on data from different sources/warehosues. Cinchy provided us the ability to aggreagate that data in one location, and then leverage the data to create reports and dashboards. We had a huge business need to create reports and dashboards, but through our old process that took approximately 4 weeks to execute on - many times months. With Cinchy we were able to move faster and execute in 1-2 business days. Ultimatley by being able to carry out analysis faster we are able to target growth in our top line and increased profitability. ### 8. Something that would need at least 5 developers collaborating on database, backend, and front end. With Cinchy this would only need 1 or 2 developers. Read through the documentation in detail. This current and dynamic platform brings a new way to manage data with an intuitive, flexible, and modern solution. Cinchy offers innovative native features to facilitate data management processes. Robust and iterative, the structure of data and metadata allows for great latitude. Our entire data architecture is centered around Cinchy: the solution is used as a data hub, MDM, and also as an application for managing our data. **What do you dislike about Cinchy?** Cinchy is a very young solution and, as such, still requires developments to reach its full maturity. The solution is very modular: its use must follow a strict framework to avoid misuse and result in "chaos." It is therefore important to be accompanied by Cinchy experts to use the full potential of the platform's features. **What problems is Cinchy solving and how is that benefiting you?** The Cinchy platform allowed us in a few days to offer a matching solution to identify our customers in relation to an external reference source. While the ultimate vision within the app is obviously geared at a fully integrated data fabric, it doesn't stop you from deploying it more as a toolkit that supports fit for purpose exercises along the lines of data profiling or workflow design. My first couple of days working with Cinchy I built out a live representation of the data model that was implied under a project design, and found myself with a candidate network that highlighted a couple of key datasets which would support a level of elegance in our long term design. The visualization gets people's attention in a meeting, but it actually helps with data profiling in a sandbox style use case as well. **What do you dislike about Cinchy?** There is some technical expertise and Cinchy specific knowledge required in organizing some of the flavors of connectors. It was easy enough, and a tech team that had integrated Cinchy into their stack would find the effort trivial, and business super users won't have challenges once familiarized. It may be unavoidable given the technical nature of such data integration efforts, but this does create a barrier to entry for direct adoption by non expert users. This is a trivial point for the software's core use cases. **What problems is Cinchy solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are currently using it in support of traditional project delivery life cycle to map and profile a particularly challenging data model. ### 11. As well as the ability to visualize how all the data points are connected to each other. **What do you dislike about Cinchy?** As we are still in the development stage, this is a difficult question to answer until we have a proof of concept or first go through of our end product, no dislikes at this point in time! That being said, perhaps for now, the most difficult part is to be able to visualize the end state product of how the interconnected data points are able to provide the view and analytics we desire. **Recommendations to others considering Cinchy:** Cinchy is a great solution when you are looking to connect various data sources together to avoid 'siloed' information and consistency to the data quality. This unification of data enables greater insights and analytics. **What problems is Cinchy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating a solution/tool for the team that has multi facets which enable us to better serve our clients by: 1. having a 'one stop shop' for key client information 2. a managed repository and data base for risk managment information 3. ability to conduct analytics and trending on all data points (this has previously not been possible) By having all of the data points interconnected with each other, we reduce the risk of inaccurate or inconsistent reporting or data collection which may impact client service and experience. ### 12. We were able to complete a proof of concept within three months and integrate with our existing technology stack within three months as well.
