I mostly use CiMs for estimates. Using custom templates relevant to client/project/artist types really saves a lot of time and prompts me to include all the right line items keeping everything consistent where needed. I also like that I can easily update and include new estimate line items. Sometimes it feels like there are too many features that I don’t use, so I’d really like the option to hide them and keep the interface simpler. A more modern, streamlined layout would help. As it is, it can occasionally feel a bit clunky to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that everything is in one platform for booking and billing jobs, rather than using a calendar in one place and billing on a different platform. I can visually see multiple jobs on the calendar, and it feeds into iCal so the talent can see their calendars too. It connects to our software package, so invoice information feeds through, which saves us having to copy things. Our bookkeepers can see everything pretty easily. With hair, makeup, and styling, I often have multiple bookings, and I have to manually write first or second option in the field. I’d like a color-coded field option to change that. I’d also like cancelled jobs to stay on the calendar with a strike-through, with the option to remove them. We use CiMS every day at our artist and production agency to manage our jobs and client database. It’s become a core part of our project management workflow, turning what could be tedious admin tasks into quick, straightforward processes. At this point, CiMS feels integral to how our agency functions day to day.

Performance-wise, I personally haven’t had any issues so far. The onboarding was easy and self-explanatory. That said, there are likely a lot of features I still haven’t explored yet, and I’d like to dig into what else is possible—especially any AI-powered features I haven’t had a chance to try. I especially like how customizable it is and how easily you can manage the system to update or edit every aspect of an invoice or estimate, from expense types to job types, currency options, and so much more. It keeps things organized, so you don't have to rebuild an invoice from scratch every time. Being able to sort all your invoices by status is also very helpful. I know this was built for photo agencies with more robust needs, but as an individual photographer, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first, and some accounting features go beyond my everyday needs. From the accounting point of view not being able to change the company name on the final invoice is frustrating. Billing is not always the same as on the estimate. It force us to kill a job a create a new one. If there is an option to change the billing information on the final invoice without changing the estimate would be extremely helpful.
