## Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) Reviews
  ### 1. Stabil Performance Plus Security

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Esat Yasar C. | System Security Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

Checkpoint has been in the industry for many years and has established a brand value and is the main owner of some terms. It is the first firewall model that is thought of when it comes to security in large financial institutions and operators. It generally offers stable performance and a wide range of security. Their installation is not very difficult or easy, but after reaching a certain maturity, it becomes very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

Since Checkpoint is designed as an OS firewall as a general philosophy, it may not have as much network flexibility as its competitors as a network firewall. Some problems may take a long time to solve.

**What problems is Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Checkpoint provides a complete solution to our company with its firewall, IPS and sandbox solutions.

  ### 2. Quiet, reliable NGFWs that scale with you

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** max d. | Cyber Security Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

Policy pushes finish quickly, threat-prevention blades block zero-days without flooding us with false alerts, and SmartConsole lets me manage physical, virtual, and cloud gateways from one screen. Maestro clustering also lets us add horsepower on demand, so performance never becomes a fire drill.

**What do you dislike about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

Licensing bundles can be hard to decode and get pricey if you guess wrong, SmartConsole is still Windows-only which forces Mac users onto a jump box, and new admins face a steep learning curve unless they take formal training.

**What problems is Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform lets us manage all of those edges from one console, so we spend less time juggling devices and more time improving policy. The threat-prevention blades stop zero-day attacks that used to slip past our legacy firewalls, cutting incident tickets by more than half. Auto-scaling and Maestro clustering keep performance steady during traffic spikes, which means fewer late-night calls and happier business owners. Compliance audits also run smoother because the logs and reports map cleanly to required controls.

  ### 6. Checkpoint Firewall features and experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohd Zain I. | Storage Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

Excellent Product...This solution has been incredibly useful for our organization. It offers reliable features that help us defend against unauthorized malware and data threats—whether they originate from mobile devices or laptops. Its robust protection has significantly strengthened our overall cybersecurity posture. Support is Good and implementation is very easy and console is very user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

Support has been a major challenge. Compared to the support we receive in India, the US support team is far more efficient—they typically resolve issues within just two days.

**What problems is Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned earlier, this solution has been highly effective in protecting against threats, malware, and unauthorized access. One of its standout features is its smart device visibility—it displays each connected device individually, making it easy to identify whether a mobile, tablet, or any other device has joined the network.

  ### 7. Quantum Spark has been good considering its easy and fast implementation.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian M. | Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

My experience with the Quantum Spark has been good considering its eaasy and fast deployment the administration is very optimal and intuitive. A of its main features is flexy-port to use LAN ports for WAN or some.

In addition to the security profiles, they are truly comprehensive in terms of the security database supported by the appwiki, where we can identify application categories, URLs, and even the risk severity level.

**What do you dislike about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

In my experience with Quantum Spark, what I didn't like at all was the issue of log retention, or even when reaching a certain amount of logs, it tends to take a long time to load and display them, and even sends an error saying they can't be displayed. These problems may have already been solved in current versions or integrations with other solutions in the portfolio.

**What problems is Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned earlier, one of the problems that was solved with the update patches was the retention of logs and connections in the firewall and being able to view them quickly and easily. At some point, the issue arose that the security profiles (AV, IPS, ETC) were not being updated correctly, not until after several attempts, but now all this has improved.

  ### 8. Not perfect, but gives me peace of mind

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

What stands out the most for me is how thorough the protection is. I work with a mix of on-prem devices and some remote users, and I feel like Check Point gives us really granular control over what’s allowed in and out of our network. The SmartConsole is a lifesaver for managing multiple firewalls—it’s not perfect, but it does let me see logs and alerts in one place instead of having to jump between different screens. Also, their threat prevention features (like IPS and anti-bot) have actually caught things in real time that other products sometimes missed. The reporting tools are another thing I use almost every day, especially when management wants to see traffic patterns or blocked threats. Honestly, it gives me a lot of confidence that nothing major is slipping through the cracks.

**What do you dislike about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?**

When I first started using it, the setup took way longer than I expected, and the documentation, while thorough, can be hard to follow if you’re new to their products. Some advanced features require you to buy extra licenses, which gets frustrating when you think you have everything you need and then realize you don’t. We’ve also run into a few issues with software upgrades—once, an upgrade caused our VPN to go down for a couple hours until we figured out a workaround. Their support is usually helpful, but it sometimes takes a while to get a response on complicated issues. Overall, it does the job well, but it’s not always as user-friendly as I’d like.

**What problems is Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest issue before Check Point was not having enough visibility into what was actually happening on our network, especially with so many remote users after COVID. We needed something that could not only block unwanted traffic but also give us detailed logs and alerts about potential threats. Check Point has helped us tighten up our policies and has made it much easier to spot things like port scans, malware attempts, and users accidentally accessing risky sites. The unified management means I can keep tabs on everything from one spot, and the reporting has been useful for audits and compliance checks. Overall, it’s given us much better security and peace of mind, even if it took some effort to get there.
