The accuracy of its responses is lower than others in the same model range. If I keep using the same chat for the same project, once I’ve found the right style it becomes super fast to generate tons of pictures with consistent styling and very little extra typing. Creating images for blog posts now takes seconds, whereas in the past I had to make them in a design tool and it took about 10 times longer. It tends to have a better ability to compose in creative writing and perform “messy” and “nuanced” editorializing, with a cleaner look. It allows us a very, very large memory window. Unless we need to send absurdly large files, or open a chat and never forget how it started, then we can hardly do better than that. Then, of course, privacy has become a bigger concern. After all, this is just a tool for aggregating web data. It isn't really original. It can easily recapitulate antique prejudices, or even antique truths learnt in the course of training. On top of that, it has security vulnerabilities like prompt injections too & therefore tech teams need to put some pretty strong restrictions before it can be used by every and anybody. The biggest problem it solves is the mental friction of starting a complex task from scratch. Whether I’m drafting a formal email, outlining a technical report, or trying to explain a high-level concept in simpler terms, it gives me a solid foundation to build on in seconds. The main benefit is the huge amount of time it gives back. Instead of spending two hours wrestling with a document’s structure, I can get a workable draft in thirty seconds and put my energy into the truly “human” parts: fine-tuning, strategy, and nuance. It also works well as a sounding board for troubleshooting. When I’m stuck on a logic problem or a technical hurdle, talking it through with the AI often helps me spot the solution from a different angle. I love how direct and fast ChatGPT is. You throw a big coding problem or a complicated structure at it, and in record time, it gives you a clear and straightforward answer, without beating around the bush. I also use it a lot to organize ideas and structure new projects. It's a great help for solving coding complications; it allows me to quickly identify errors when a bug or API becomes complicated. Additionally, ChatGPT removes the fluff by summarizing tedious documentation and helping me outline the structure of a project or database from scratch. I set it up without any problems, it was just a matter of going to the website, registering with my email in a minute, and starting to use it.
