## ChartDB Reviews
 ### 1. Super useful for teams working with complex databases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ori R. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

We’ve been using ChartDB as part of our workflow for around 6 months now, and it’s become one of those tools we didn’t know we needed until we had it. It lets our team instantly turn SQL schemas into clean, understandable diagrams, perfect for onboarding new engineers and planning database changes. We often share the ER diagram before granting access to the actual database, which really improves context and security. The live collaboration is smooth (feels a bit like Figma but for databases), and we’ve used it regularly in internal design reviews.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

Nothing major. Early on, there were some limitations with schema filtering and support for larger tables, but the team has been super responsive and shipped fixes quickly. One thing still on our wishlist is better versioning support, though the current setup already works well for most of our needs.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us quickly generate and share clear ER diagrams with the team, which is especially useful during onboarding and planning changes. Before ChartDB, we’d waste time explaining schemas manually or digging through SQL. Now we just share a link to the diagram, way faster and easier for everyone to understand what’s going on.

 ### 2. Easy database visualization & migration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilya L. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

We've switched to ChartDB from dbdiagram.io in the team to document our database structure and quickly adopted it as our main db visualization and migration tool.
It's super easy to use and all our team members enjoy it.
The areas feature (table groups) was a game changer for our docs and internal communication around the database schema.

Also the team is paying attention to our feedback and had a great support when we need them.

Really recommend ChartDB to all R&D teams.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

The AI migration works very well, but I’d love to see even more customization options for complex edge cases.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal communication around database schema changes is a breathe now. Really helpful during tech design reviews.

 ### 3. Clean interface, instant diagrams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nadav A. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

ChartDB makes it easy to turn SQL schema into visual diagrams in seconds. As an engineer, this has helped me better understand complex databases, especially when joining an existing project. The UI is clean and intuitive, and sharing diagrams with my team is seamless. It also works really well even with larger schemas.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

There were some small limitations early on when working with schemas that had a lot of tables and relationships, but the product has improved fast.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me and my team understand and discuss database structure much faster. Instead of spending time reading raw SQL or explaining table relationships, we generate diagrams and collaborate visually.

 ### 4. Great tool for visualizing and migrating databases

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Idan C. | Founder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

ChartDB makes it simple to visualize my Postgres database instantly. The AI migration feature worked surprisingly well when I moved a MySQL database to Postgres, saving me a lot of manual work

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

The AI migration was great overall, but for more complex schemas I still needed to make a few manual tweaks. Would be great to see support for even more SQL dialects.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ChartDB helped me quickly understand and document my PostgreSQL schema, and its AI-powered migration made moving a MySQL database to Postgres much smoother. It saved me hours of manual work and gave me clear, visual results I could share.

 ### 5. Clean, powerful, and built for real engineering workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Or M. | Tech Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

It turns raw SQL into a live, shareable diagram, no database access needed. We've used it to document architecture, review schema changes across teams, and streamline onboarding. Embedded links make it easy to keep everyone aligned. Great support.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

I’d love to see better versioning and diffing features so we can track schema changes visually over time. Other than that, the experience has been solid and the product keeps improving.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ChartDB helps us align fast-moving engineering teams around database changes. It replaces manual schema docs with live diagrams we can share across teams, great for planning, reviews, and onboarding without needing DB access.

 ### 6. The fastest way we’ve found to turn database schemas into clean diagrams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaked K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

It’s incredibly straightforward, you drop in your SQL schema and get a clear, well-structured ER diagram instantly. We’ve used it for internal documentation, async reviews, and syncing with product teams. It’s been a big help in getting everyone on the same page without needing to give DB access. The collaboration features are also a nice touch.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

It would be great to have more granular controls for team management and some native integrations with tools like Confluence or Google Docs. That said, ChartDB already does exactly what we need and it keeps getting better.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ChartDB solves the challenge of communicating and understanding database structure across the team. It helps us quickly visualize schemas, explore relationships, and share diagrams without needing to grant database access. This has improved onboarding, planning, and cross-functional collaboration significantly.

ChartDB makes it easy to visual diagram without needing to connect directly to a database. I especially like how quick it is to share a diagram with other contractors without giving them an access. The UI is clean and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

There were a couple of moments where large schemas needed some manual tweaking to look just right. But overall, these are minor.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ChartDB helps us bridge the gap between backend and product conversations. Instead of walking people through raw SQL or outdated diagrams, we generate a live, visual representation of our schema.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

Real-time multi-user editing would make collaboration even smoother, but overall it works great for our needs.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us quickly onboard new engineers by giving them a clear, visual understanding of our Postgres database structure. This reduces the time spent explaining schemas in meetings and improves collaboration when discussing schema changes.

 ### 9. Great Value for Software Architects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arrigo L. | Co-Founder & Managing Director, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

It's super easy to install and is also optimized for up and coming database technologies like Cloudflare D1. That makes it an easy choice as otherwise I would have to install a custom library myself and manage it - whereas ChartDB makes it quick and simple to get started. The design is sleek and the features promised all work as exptected.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

The API pricing has been a bit unclear in the past, and it changed a few times. It's nothing major, but definitely the pricing component is where I'd like a bit more clarity. I'm sure this will improve as the founders keep growing the product and find the perfect fit :)

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping visualize complex database schema, especially for presentations.

 ### 10. A must-have for visualizing and aligning on database changes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arik L. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2025

 ### 11. Intuitive visual db design tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lior B. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

I love being able to visually design and refine my database architecture instead of manually writing every DDL statement. ChartDB makes the process faster, clearer, and more collaborative.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

Would love to see more customization options for diagram layouts, such as sticky notes or annotations for better context. I spoke with the team, and they’re already working on adding this.

Helps me design and implement database architecture visually, making it easier to collaborate and adapt as the project evolves

 ### 12. My go-to tool for schema visualization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

I love how effortlessly ChartDB turns database schemas into clear ER diagrams, making it easy to get a quick, high-level overview of the design.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

Nothing major, and definitely not something that outweighs the benefits. If I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be how tables are locked on the canvas. When working with complex ER diagrams, it’s great to arrange and group tables visually, but it was easy to accidentally move them and lose the layout, which meant redoing the placements. I’m hopeful the new “areas” feature will help mitigate this.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing and evolving complex ER diagrams.

 ### 13. Simple Tool For Architects To Visualize Database Quickly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divanshu K. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

Charts refresh after each migration and are embedded live in Confluence, so I never redraw them. The AI assistant fixes the layout in one click and saves hours every week.

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

Change history can’t compare two versions side by side. Native Jira integration is still missing.

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The clarity shortens feedback loops and helps us close projects faster.

 ### 14. Affordable ERD Diagram Tools Worth Using

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neha J. | SEO Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about ChartDB?**

Love how easy the UI is to navigate, and programmatic updates make it even better!"

**What do you dislike about ChartDB?**

There is nothing to dislike about ChartDB

**What problems is ChartDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ChartDB helps us save hours on database design, keeps our documentation always up-to-date, and makes collaboration across tech and business teams way easier at Makcorps.
