What do you like best about Centreon Infra Monitoring?

Thanks to its advanced mapping features and its numerous monitoring connectors, Centreon truly saves us valuable time and offers us the ability to effectively monitor a heterogeneous information system: from "small" hardware to specific probes for a database, for example. What do you dislike about Centreon Infra Monitoring?

The only negative point concerns Centreon's change in strategy regarding its licensing model, which now operates per probe rather than per host. In our situation, this proves to be quite restrictive, as some of our hosts only have a single probe, such as ping, for example. What problems is Centreon Infra Monitoring solving and how is that benefiting you?

Centreon allows centralizing all monitoring data within a single console, thus offering instant visibility on the information system, incidents, and their level of criticality. Thanks to monitoring connectors, one benefits from a considerable time saving and increased reliability. This also frees up time to focus on higher value-added tasks. What is appreciable about Centreon is the ability to have monitoring probes based on provided templates and/or to create our own monitoring scripts. This gives the product great flexibility. What problems is Centreon Infra Monitoring solving and how is that benefiting you?

Centreon allows us to centralize and automate the monitoring of our entire IT infrastructure (servers, networks, applications, databases, etc.). It addresses several key issues:

Complete visibility: it offers a unified view of the status and performance of all components, avoiding blind spots in monitoring.

Proactive incident detection: thanks to configurable probes and alerts, anomalies are identified before they impact users or services.

Reduction of diagnostic time: dashboards and reports facilitate cause analysis and speed up resolution.

Interoperability: numerous APIs allow Centreon to integrate with other tools (ITSM, automation, reporting), streamlining processes.

High availability: in HA mode, monitoring remains operational even in the event of a node failure, ensuring service continuity.

I like the readability on critical alerts once well configured, and the ability to create customized and efficient dashboards according to the teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Centreon Infra Monitoring?

The official documentation for some plugins leaves much to be desired, especially for the IBM MQ plugin, which is complex even for an expert. The interface is not always user-friendly, making the search for options sometimes complicated in the templates. Getting to grips with Centreon is quite complicated for a novice, requiring a lot of knowledge to be well utilized. Our previous solution, INM, was easier and faster to use for similar tasks. I appreciate Centreon for its simple interface and clean graphics, which make monitoring our equipment in the Azure cloud easy to manage. The relevant reports generated are very useful for tracking availability rates. Additionally, it is accessible to both insiders and novices, which is a huge plus. - Limitation on Dashboard

- Jira integration is a disaster, we are facing a lot of issues with Jira Ticketing (Duplicated Tickets, System is not creating Tickets for all Alerts)

- Reporting are not always visible, a lot of difficulties of adjusting a Report.

What problems is Centreon Infra Monitoring solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before implementing Centreon, our infrastructure had no centralized monitoring solution. We were relying on manual checks, reactive troubleshooting, and fragmented logs — which made identifying and resolving issues both time-consuming and inefficient.

We selected Centreon after a thorough evaluation, and it quickly proved to be the missing piece in our operations. It provided immediate visibility into the health of our on-prem infrastructure — including servers, network devices, storage systems, and critical services.

What convinced us was Centreon’s ability to deploy rapidly, integrate easily with SNMP and custom plugins, and deliver real-time, actionable dashboards. It gave our team a clear view of the entire estate, significantly reducing blind spots and alerting us to issues before they impacted users.

With no monitoring previously in place, Centreon brought structure and confidence to our IT operations. Its intuitive interface, powerful alerting system, and extensive customization options allowed us to adapt the platform to our exact needs. The team quickly adopted it and praised how easy it was to use and extend.

Today, Centreon is the foundation of our monitoring strategy, and it’s hard to imagine operating without it. We highly recommend it to any organization looking to establish a robust monitoring framework — especially if starting from scratch.
