The driver-based modeling is the biggest win for me. I can tie the budget to what drives our business, like headcount, volumes, and rates, and when an assumption changes, the impact flows through the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow on its own. I don’t have to maintain linked spreadsheets anymore. The reporting is just as strong: I can produce clean financial statements and management reports straight from the system, and the dashboards make it easy to show leadership budget vs. actuals. The support and onboarding team is very supportive. They helped us set up our initial models, map our GLs, and build templates for reporting. It’s been a great partnership. I found Centage had a learning curve in the beginning. Building out drivers takes upfront planning, and new users will need training. The documentation and interface for driver inputs could be easier to use. I’d like an input box that explains where the drivers come from and what their purpose is; right now, the Excel export is very confusing and not helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Centage offers a terrific platform for collaborative team budgeting and integration. We’ve gained efficiency through linked income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow. Scenario extrapolation is valuable, and so is the ability to create customer drivers for revenue and expense forecasts. Customer support is responsive and professional. I use Centage for budgeting in my nonprofit organization. Centage easily keeps track of our budgeted expenses organized by division and department, and it helps us keep track of the many details within our personnel expenses such as fringe benefits, FICA taxes, and salary increases. It automatically allocates our overhead allocation of central operations costs to our revenue-generating divisions, which saves a lot of time each month when re-forecasting monthly expenses. I like that I have the flexibility to make my edits in Excel and then import that to the system. It gives me the flexibility to get to a greater level of detail on expenses so that I can review them with department heads, and it makes it easy to quickly change or reforecast data depending on our actual monthly usage of budgeted funds. A Centage representative helped us tailor the software to our needs upon setup, and thoroughly trained me on how to make updates on my own. Overall I enjoy working with the software. I do find that the deployment of the plan and cube (as it relates to Analytics Maestro) can be a bit clunky and time consuming if I want to see the impact of budget changes in the Excel reports that I share with leaders outside of the finance team. I also find that the system is not user-friendly to non-finance people, and so I don't feel comfortable giving access to department heads. The financial reporting tool - Maestro Analytics and the Personnel module, the budgeting section, and the forecasting tool are my favorite parts of Centage.Implementation and Product support are also top notch. The only downside I see with Centage is the delay in posted entries to when they are reflected in the financials. I do think this will be a feature enhancement in the future to where data can be updated multiple times a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have a number of different revenue streams and Centage allows us to create custom calculations and setting as we need them. I also like the variety of reporting options using the Analytics Maestro add on to really get an understanding of our data in order to best plan for the future. Because the Analytics Maestro is used with Excel, there is a download process to move the data that you need. In order to get the most current actual data this is a two-step process which can take up to 30 minutes. Part of it could be set to run automatically but I prefer to do it as needed.
