"CATIA: stable, reliable, and ideal for managing complex assemblies"
4.5/5
What do you like best about CATIA?

CATIA mainly helps me manage complex models without wasting time, as the software remains stable even when assemblies become very large. I also appreciate the ability to automate many tasks with macros: it saves me time and avoids repetitive manipulations daily. In the end, it's a tool that improves my efficiency while ensuring a clear, clean, and reliable work environment. I think the value is still reasonable. The service really adds something to my daily life, so I think what I pay is justified. It's not perfect, but the overall value for money remains positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CATIA?

CATIA can also show its limits daily. When models become very large, the software tends to slow down and requires a lot of patience, especially during assembly updates or significant operations. I sometimes also feel that some functions remain too rigid or unintuitive, forcing workarounds or multiple manipulations to achieve the desired result. In the end, it remains a powerful tool, but it can be demanding and sometimes a bit complex to handle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CATIA Makes Automotive Surface Modelling Effortless"
5/5
What do you like best about CATIA?

Class-A Surfacing: Creates smooth, high-precision aesthetic and aerodynamic outer surfaces required in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Generative Shape Design: Offers superior multi-section blends, sweeps, and wireframe controls compared to standard CAD tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CATIA?

The 2D drafting and drawing generation modules are frequently criticized as poor and limited, forcing users to export to other programs for final drawings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Advanced, Industry-Standard CAD Features for Complex Aerospace Design"
5/5
What do you like best about CATIA?

It has some of the most advanced design features, which come in handy when working on complex aerospace projects. I especially like CATIA V6, the newest CAD design version. It includes built-in tools to interpolate wing NACA profiles and generate a wing, and it’s parametric and widely used in the industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CATIA?

Sometimes the UI feels overwhelming and difficult for a beginner to understand. It also seems expensive compared to other CAD software. Performance-wise, I sometimes feel it requires higher computer specifications to run smoothly; otherwise, it can feel laggy and buggy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good for surface modelling"
4/5
What do you like best about CATIA?

CATIA V5 has a significantly steeper learning curve compared to more user-friendly CAD tools like SolidWorks or Inventor. While file compatibility is generally acceptable with neutral formats like STEP or IGES, I have encountered difficulties when collaborating with others who use different CAD platforms. Nevertheless, integration within the Dassault ecosystem is smooth and effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CATIA?

CATIA V5 is a powerful, industry-leading tool, though it is not the easiest software to learn, implement, or integrate unless you have strong IT and training support. While it excels in large-scale engineering projects, it can be excessive for smaller companies. In my experience, integrating CATIA V5 with other systems has not always been straightforward.
