## CaseMap® Reviews
  ### 1. New to Casemap

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

I like how you can take very large volumes of information and organize it in an easy go-to application.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

I think the format could be a bit more professional. It is easy to use but almost too simple looking.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have just begun using CaseMap and have not run into any errors yet.

  ### 2. Great application that keeps all case facts and documents in one place.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

I like that I can link case facts to testimony or documents that support the facts. It is very helpful especially if preparing something like a motion for summary judgment.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

I was trying this as a trial period and really liked it, but then when my firm was discussing purchasing it the cost seemed a bit high.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeps all case information stored in one place: facts, documents, testimony, witnesses.

  ### 3. Great program to use for visual aid and organizational purposes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor Kay L. | Legal Administrative Assistant, Law Practice, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

The program is user friendly and is very helpful to visually aid jury and witnesses in cases at trial.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

The program could have a little bit better graphics. The ones I have used in the past seem a bit dated, but they still get the job done!

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Very helpful if you are in litigation and go to trial a lot with long-running cases. The program itself is fairly user friendly, too.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CaseMap provides their sub program, TimeMap, which helps to plot out the timeline of a case and certain main points related to said case. Very useful for exhibits.

  ### 4. Great litigation tool integrated with other ediscovery software solutions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2017

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Easy to learn interface, integrated with other software solutions allowing document export from Concordance, MS Word, PDFs - pretty much whatever format your discovery docs are in, they can be viewed in Casemap. Reduction feature was very helpful to preserve confidentiality when sharing discovery docs. Lexis customer support is also pretty good if you have any questions.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

It is a great litigation tool overall but is not a one size fits all solution, I think it is an overkill for a small/ simple case that does not require extensive document and timeline management.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

It is a must have for any serious litigation practice, especially if Lexis is your primary legal research provider

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Lexis Casemap as an associate at a litigation group of a large law firm. It is a convenient solution for gathering all the case evidence in one place and managing discovery and is integrated with Lexis Advance for any legal research needs as well as other ediscovery products that we used, such as Concordance.

  ### 5. Great for medical chronologies but not without issues.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2017

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

I like that this allows me to create very useful medical chronologies from medical records. I appreciate that it allows me to link to specific PDF pages in source documents. I love that I can create entries directly from a PDF I am reviewing.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

I dislike that occasionally my source documents become unlinked and I have to figure out how to relink them.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

I would strongly recommend this product to anyone working with medical records that needs to have a clear picture of care down to the minute details. The reports that come out of this product are clean, professional in appearance, easy to read, and easy to mark up.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is the solution I currently use to translate medical records into useful chronologies that show me what happened step by step according to medical records. Without this, I would be using a much less efficient method in Excel.

  ### 6. Casemap Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2018

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Lexis Casemap saves an inordinate amount of time simply by automating tasks I, or another employee, would have to perform.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

The layout can be a bit confusing to understand from the get go. However, I think this has to be true given the level of software the product is.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Don't be afraid to play around with this product. There is a lot to work with and it can be daunting, but it is worth it to learn the process and software.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main business problem I am solving with this program is that I no longer have to painstakingly put together a case. The majority is done automatically for me.

  ### 7. CaseMap Knocks it Out of the Park!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse K. | Campaign Strategist - State Advocacy, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2017

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

The ability to link all data together and the effectiveness of team streamlining. The organizational asset of CaseMap is not comparable to any other. I also like the ability to react within the software. CaseMap is great trail preparation and discovery organization software.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

The softwares works almost exclusively with Adobe for portable document formatting. This is a great tool for a larger law firm, but for smaller boutique firms the expense of the software might become exorbitant.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

The software provides OCR capability to easily search within a document. Correspondence within the software makes focusing on the actual task at hand exceedingly productive. Transcript management and highlighting for team review is a software highlight.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great to have the availability of adding headers and footers within the software and have peers immediately review or correct those designations. Provides a centralized location for legal research.

  ### 8. CaseMap is a great resource for lawyers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ariel L. | Associate Attorney, Law Practice, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2017

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

CaseMap is a great way to organize your relevant case law for a matter.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

I can't think of any dislikes at this time!

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CaseMap solves the issues of organizing relevant case law that will be useful in a legal matter.

  ### 9. CaseMap gets the job done

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2017

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

My experience with legal software has been a proverbial jaunt through a mine field. However, Lexus CaseMap is one of the better programs I’ve used in terms of user interface and accessibility.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

Lexis CaseMap tends to have difficulty cross-communicating with other Lexis products.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lexis CaseMap has help improved the efficiency of past legal teams I’ve been on, delivering quick results for clients.

  ### 10. CaseMap, more like BrainMap!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Molly C. | Litigation Support Specialist, Legal Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2016

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

CaseMap is nearly infinitely customizable thanks to the insert field/spreadsheet feature. Aside from its normal uses, I've utilized it for everything from importing cell phone records so that I could filter/sort/timeline them to tracking/summarizing/organizing thousands of company policies & procedures. Multiple ways of filtering/sorting data make drilling down to what you need an absolute breeze. It provides a central repository for all of your case data. No more opening multiple memos or spreadsheets. It's a one stop shop!

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

The thing that I think would be the most handy would be to be able to retroactively have another user's spreadsheet display mirror my own. All of our users are already loaded into an opening template, so unless I add someone new and have their spreadsheet setup mirror my own, then I have to log in as them and show/hide/organize all of my custom fields. It would be something like a "mirror my fields" for xyz user button. Just an idea :)

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Start small (just managing your documents/main facts/people/organizations) and then grow your databases as you get more comfortable. There's really no end to what it can do once you learn how to utilize it.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralization of information is key. Instead of opening who knows how many memos or Word tables containing summaries, it's all in one place. I can filter, sort, and create reports to my hearts content! Even using something as simple as the "# of mentions in Facts" column can assist you in discovering who the key players are and then it's only a few clicks until you have a comprehensive report about them. Brilliant.

  ### 11. CaseMap

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raymond T. | Summer Fellow, Law Practice, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2016

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Casemap is a great preparation tool. It is highly digital and efficient if used as such, and manages data for litigation. It visualizes the chronology of cases, depositions, sanctions, and helps as a visual tool. It helps seamlessly organize all the pieces into a clean set up so you don’t always have to comb for a piece used in litigation.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

This is a highly digital piece and not all people are accustomed to using it. As a student, this has given mixed results, though having used it in a work setting, it can be a great tool if everyone is on board with it. So much of litigation preparation comes down to preference - so if everyone is on the same page, this is a great tool for educational and actual litigation purposes.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Its effectiveness boils down to preference and the comfort level of its users.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helps organize pieces of the puzzle into one system. It is a great data-management tool that makes presenting information and visualizing information easier. It also gives a way for everyone to oversee and access information.

  ### 12. CaseMap is very good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2017

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

You can manage your cases easier and have all information in one place.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

Sometimes it can be hard to organize files. It would be more useful if it intergrated with other software.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Maintain your cases in CaseMap for eaiser idenification of documents.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. More effiencent case management

  ### 13. CaseMap is a good tool for Users who only need review a certain set of documents

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2016

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

The UI looks a lot like Outlook and it makes navigation through the system very easy. Once you are able to get the Linked fields setup you can see real time information about facts, users, etc.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

The lack of features and the necessary steps in order to load data or do custom manipulation. The fact that there is no web version and this needs to sit on a server with access to a share that everyone has permission to use.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Be sure that this tool has all the features you need and that you take a user class in order to utilize all the built in features.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need to review documents and do it in a cost effective manner that gives the client the ability to present this information in court. Still in the process of realizing the benefits for this particular tool.

  ### 14. Casemap - A great Tool for Working on any Legal Issue

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2016

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Casemap is great. It makes any legal issue easied to understand and "map" out. Lexis has really improved this program since I first used it as a law student in 2009.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

I don't like some of the clunkiness of the product. It isn't as nimble as other programs, but that's because of the breadth of information it incorporates I assume.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Learn all of its features. There are several things about it that are not immediately apparent, but your experience will be greatly enhanced by seeking out all of the ways you can use casemap to "map" out any legal issue.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Legal cases, legal issues.

  ### 15. Great for mapping out your cases

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Very advanced tool for organizing your data. Create issues and match with production documents. Keep track of who is who; experts, custodians, defendants, plaintiff, court officers, etc...

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

Not very user intuitive. System has many different options for adding and organizing your case. unfortunatley because there are so many options the tool becomes great for expert users but creates a headache for others attempting to help out with a matter.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

It does what it promises and has been around for a long time. There is a large user base for a reason.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization of materials required in litigation. All 'hot docs' and in one location and easily organized.

  ### 16. Great product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2016

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Great product to consolidate legal research and tools. Good way of putting all relevant facts and cases in one place.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

It can be difficult to get used to the product's features and learning what features are available.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better tracking of cases.

  ### 17. I create and customize Casemap databases for legal teams. Import data from other review platforms.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2015

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

I appreciate that the back-end of CaseMap is Access which makes it easily customizable for different types of cases.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

Adobe Acrobat is the only pdf editor that works with the bulk actions in CaseMap. Many firms use Nuance's PDF Pro Office as their pdf editor because of price and ease of installation across a network of user's. We have to spend a considerable amount of money to upgrade user's machines to Acrobat Pro in order to use CaseMap. Very irritating to our user's and our finance committee.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Be prepared to buy Acrobat or Acrobat Pro in order to utilize the program to its fullest extent.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We organize case analysis, hot docs, legal research, facts and cast of characters all in one place.

  ### 18. I enjoyed the product, believed it was useful in large cases

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2015

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

The ability to retain facts and timelines easily, and link to relevant documents

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

The biggest problem I had was getting the attorneys to get on board with the product. There was a lot of information there (that took a long time to input), but they didn't want to take the time to become familiar enough with it to make use of it. I eventually quit using it because the attorneys weren't using it, and it wasn't cost effective for only me to use it.

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

Make sure your attorneys will support you by using the software and making additions along with you.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My problem is getting the attorneys to use it also, to make it worthwhile

  ### 19. Litigation Support - CaseMap

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2015

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Ease of use in loading, limited training is necessary and suitable for cases without intensive document review that need shared accessibility for all users.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

Its not as much of a database format similar to tools like Relativity, Cicayda, Concordance

**Recommendations to others considering CaseMap®:**

It is a good supplement for a specific user group due to its user friendly interface

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is suitable for lawfirms who don't do a lot of document review, managed review, or productions. It serves teams well for dealing with a directory of docs to manage on a small/moderate case or isolating case issues.

  ### 20. Casemap was helpful for making a timeline.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2015

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

Casemap allows you to make a timeline or chart that is particularly helpful when wanted to tell a story with visual aids. Great for using during opening statements and closing arguments.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

I was not able to customize the size of the blocks as easily as I would have preferred.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I have used CaseMap it helped solve my problems of being able to visually tell a lengthy and detailed story.

  ### 21. A very useful program to have

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2015

**What do you like best about CaseMap®?**

That I was able to create timelines in PDF, and create reports.

**What do you dislike about CaseMap®?**

I had trouble understanding the tabs. Not very user friendly.

**What problems is CaseMap® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time saved by creating visuals chronologies, and by organizing key facts, people, places, documents, etc.
