## Canonical Kubernetes Reviews
  ### 1. Best tool to get scaled & effecicient systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit K. | Full Stack Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Canonical Kubernetes?**

The best part about the kubernetes on the ubuntu is it is really easy to install, get the pods and containers setted up and has a vast number of features that can potentially increase the scalability of the systems.

**What do you dislike about Canonical Kubernetes?**

There can be more features as for 1 single application we can have n number of cluster nodes, but for all the nodes, the logs are shown separately, that can be unified and a much more cleaner & strong logs system can be introduced.

**What problems is Canonical Kubernetes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us to put the project on the Auto-pilot mode for the scaling issues we faced when we had extensive traffic of users, helped us do better tech deployments to servers, autoscale the cluster size etc.

  ### 2. Its a good Technology but you need to resolve some complexities.

**Reviewed by:** Siba Prasad C. | System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Canonical Kubernetes?**

The documentation, ease of use, compatibility with most Linux distros, the community support, ease of getting started thanks to the hundreds of online resources, performance, presence of almost all necessary functionalities

**What do you dislike about Canonical Kubernetes?**

The removal of support for docker in favor of containerD. The absence of kuneenetes for windows. Not necessarily dislikes, rather a wishlist.

**What problems is Canonical Kubernetes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling the Pods to run on certain nodes.
Auto-scaling up or down, horizontally or vertically, the Pods for us.
Allowing the same application to run in multiple Pods with replicas.
Exposing Pods in the form of services so users and other Pods running inside of the Kubernetes cluster can access them. Managing all these without kuneenetes is almost unthinkable.

**What do you like best about Canonical Kubernetes?**

Kubernetes on Ubuntu provides a comprehensive suite of tools for managing containerized applications and services.Including the kubelet, which is the core component of the Kubernetes cluster, and is responsible for the management and execution of the Kubernetes containers.

It also includes the kubeadm tool, which is used to initialize the Kubernetes cluster and manage its components. Additionally, it provides the kubectl command line tool, which is used to manage the Kubernetes cluster and its components.

This helps us to integrate and use swiftly.

**What do you dislike about Canonical Kubernetes?**

Kubernetes on Ubuntu requires more effort to set up and configure compared to other Linux distributions, and it is not well-suited for some applications or workloads. Also personally we feel this should be tested rigorously in production environments, as it may be more prone to errors and outages.

**What do you dislike about Canonical Kubernetes?**

There is almost everything is perfect with Kubernetes when we use it with ubuntu flavor, But sometimes ingress and istio configuration confused me And had difficulty finding out what is the reason for it. This can be minimized.

**What problems is Canonical Kubernetes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to deploy our micro-service-based application using Kubernetes and for that, we use ubuntu as a base machine, And it is much easier to handle the live env issues. We use k8s to get the maximum uptime and easy to deploy new releases or test beta versions.

  ### 26. Kubernetes deployments hosted on Ubuntu is brilliant for Ephemeral Containers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Komal J. | Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Canonical Kubernetes?**

Kubernetes on Ubuntu is versatile and convenient when it comes to declaring the environmental variables of our container. It provides naming value pairs of useful metadata which is automatically configured during run-time of the pods and useful when it comes to identification and tagging. Cluster management is also great feature as it can effectively organize and instantiate our deployments for our containerized applications.

**What do you dislike about Canonical Kubernetes?**

Overall, Kubernetes on Ubuntu is suitable if you plan to organize a Kube-controlled manager for your organization. One thing that I noticed is while initializing our containers using the init container, and I need to ensure its completion before proceeding with other tasks. It can only be observed at a significant level if you deploy 100+ containerized K8 clusters, else you won't even feel the time-lapse for minor deployments.

**What problems is Canonical Kubernetes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our company, we utilize Kubernetes on ubuntu for our Ephemeral container deployments. We establish our containers in such a way that, even if we get an ADHOC request, we will be able to run that container application within the pod temporarily. Later, when our client approves for moving that application to production, we set up a new Ubuntu K8 platform to move that application. The migration process is smooth and hassle-free as Ubuntu takes care of the integration and data connectors which are the integral parts of our container-based K8 clusters.

  ### 27. Best open-source container-orchestration system
