I use Bitwarden for storing a lot of passwords and creating passwords. I don't have to remember every password because Bitwarden is like my brain, storing all the passwords I can't remember. It's easy to integrate into my web browser, which I highly commend them for. Whenever I open a login page, Bitwarden monitors and detects the page, offering me the correct credentials. All I have to do is click login, and it even provides the OTP if I need it. The initial setup was very easy once the support team explained everything to me, and I quickly learned all its features. If you forget your master password and don't have another recovery way, you're in trouble because Bitwarden uses zero knowledge, so there isn't any recovery method. The Chrome integration is seamless and the cross-device sync means credentials are always where you need them, whether you are at your desk or on the move. The password generator is one of the best I have used, genuinely customisable enough to handle those frustrating site-specific rules that still catch most generators out.

The standout feature for us has been the secure send functionality. Being able to share sensitive data with a one-time view or expiration link has changed how we handle that kind of information internally and externally. It removes the temptation to send credentials over email and gives you confidence that the data has not been sat in someone's inbox indefinitely.

From a business perspective, having a central repository for an entire department with sharing built around security rather than convenience is exactly what you want from a password manager. The main criticism I would level at BitWarden is that it can occasionally feel difficult to navigate, particularly when trying to locate specific settings or less frequently used features. For new users especially, the interface can take a little getting used to.

Some of the admin and management features could be a bit more intuitive. In particular, managing collections and permissions can be confusing because permissions don't inherit from the parent collection, which can make managing access for larger teams more time-consuming. Also, importing from Team Password Manager was time-consuming due to custom fields created in our old software. I would also like to have more features in the Windows application. I personally use it for my RDP sessions. I used to have 1Password and they had a lot of shortcuts that I could use directly from my keyboard to get access to a password in just a few shortcuts so that I could search, and copy password very easily. It’s a very fast and user-friendly solution in terms of its interface. The extension is very useful for always having an icon accessible in the browser, and the fact that I—as someone who works in the IT sector—can add SSH keys along with bank cards and other credentials is very convenient.
