I really like that BarTender lets us print pretty much anything instantly in black and white, which is great for our needs. We use it a lot for creating thermal transfer labels, especially when we're doing product markings, box labels, and UPC and date code labels. Another thing I find valuable is its capability to do private label mockups for customers or print out limited edition SKU identifiers. It's super handy because we often do private label items for customers. In cases where customers don’t supply their own labels, we can easily create simple black and white ones in-house. Plus, before going for full-color printing, we can check out a black and white concept first, thanks to BarTender. The setup was extremely easy—just install, connect the printer, and we were good to go. Attaching photos to a label can be a bit blurry. Re-creating a label without a digital file by scanning and importing it as a picture works okay, but it would be nice to have some AI tool that can read and transcribe the text from the photo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Label Template design is so much easier and quicker through BarTender than other programmes used previously. The best thing is not needing to re-create a new label template each time a new SKU is introduced, as the integration with SAP automates the design process, standardizing design across multiple products and production lines. The integration and conditional logic can be confusing to utilize but, that said, there are several ways to produce the desired end result.

The most frustrating aspect encountered so far was embedding UDI requirements in a data matrix barcode; this took some time to get to the desired layout and GTIN to print, but eventually figured it out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that BarTender is one application that I can use across several different processes. I appreciate that it does not have a lot of software or hardware requirements, making it accessible. The software is very easy to use and somewhat intuitive, which allows me to train someone quickly. This saves time and lets me use the product effectively without spending much time on learning. I appreciate BarTender for its wide range of encoding options, which is a real asset in various industries. The RFID coding feature is impressive, and I love the ability to print directly from spreadsheets, which minimizes numerical errors. The design tool for creating professional barcode labels is amazing, allowing me to design both simple and complex labels with ease. Printing and customizing labels is so convenient. The only thing I dislike about Bartender is the price. I use Bartender for work. If my employer didn't purchase it, I couldn't afford to purchase it.
