Open Source Penetration Testing Operating System that is private, secure and powerful, While being completely free. The ability to customize all aspects of this OS but being able to run out of the box, is bar none. From noobs to pros; Kali may no longer be king. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about BackBox.org? I dislike that BackBox is built on Ubuntu, Though, this is a personal preference. The other thing i dislike is the oversimplified settings, they go from minimal to advanced.. with no in between. Creating frustration for Advanced users or Confusion for rookies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering BackBox.org: I would definitely try Kali LInux, Parrot and BackBox all together and choose one to go with. Because, although they are all flavors of Linux, they do have subtle differences and once you start learning the ins and outs, you don't want to have to go back. The business problems that backbox.org solves is the ability to download VM image , Or full ISO of the Stable and Open source Pentesting OS - BackBox. The benefits of a SAFE, Open source, powerful pen-testing distribution are immense. Being able to quickly download a OS with all of the normal Penetration testing tools pre-installed, that is clean and free of Malware / Freeware / Tracking Software is priceless. A fast GUI provides quick access to a range of tools, with a PPA option for existing Ubuntu users. Features some good cloud penetration testing services. Another great thing is that the online community is very active and you will find easy, quick solutions for most problems that any newcomer may face. Lot of stuff out of the box. Perfect for day to day use and network testing purposes. Stable and customizable. Fast boot up. What makes their forum cool is that the admin is open for tools request.
