Baby i Reviews & Product Details

Baby i is a comprehensive suite developed by Infinite Corporation to facilitate the migration of IBM AS/400 applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS). It includes compilers, utilities, and operating system services that enable applications written in RPG for the AS/400 environment to be migrated at the source code level, recompiled, and executed natively on AWS. Key Features and Functionality: - Source-Level Migration: Allows AS/400 applications to be migrated at the source code level, preserving existing codebases. - Infinite Deployment Environment: Executes recompiled object code natively under AWS, replicating the AS/400 operating environment. - Database Replication: Includes a complete replication of the AS/400 database (DB2/400, enabling applications to function as they did on the original platform without extensive code rewriting. - Platform Independence: Generates truly native multi-platform solutions, allowing applications to run on standard AWS Virtual Machines. Primary Value and Problem Solved: Baby i offers a cost-effective and efficient alternative to rewriting or redeveloping AS/400 applications. By enabling rapid migration with minimal risk, it protects the investment in legacy code and current support and development staff. The solution reduces the number of platforms to be supported, lowers operational costs, and provides a scalable architecture through AWS. Additionally, Baby i facilitates database independence by migrating and executing DB2/400 data in AWS without requiring IBM database licensing, resulting in significant cost savings.
