## axiUm Ascend Reviews
  ### 1. Clunky and inefficient

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

It rarely crashes and is able to handle a large number of people inputing information at the same time.

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

The software feels like it's a Windows 98 program. Feels outdated and is very difficult to learn to use and is inefficient. UI is difficult and scheduling patients and navigating the program requires many button clicks.

**Recommendations to others considering axiUm Ascend:**

Once you learn to use the program (takes months to get comfortable), it's not so painful to use but it's very inefficient and not user friendly. I'd rather use Dentrix but this software is able to support the high number of users required in a school setting vs private practice.

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep track of all patient records and can integrate scheduling and appointment reminders into the program better than paper charts.

  ### 2. Clunky and inefficient but alright

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

Axium integrates a lot of useful functions into the program. It allows patients to check in, upload information to their own charts, etc.

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

The user interface is not intuitive and it takes so many clicks to get to where you want. The program also looks like it was designed in 1990 and was the prototype that never got finished.

**Recommendations to others considering axiUm Ascend:**

Steep learning curve to get used to the software but once you learn it, it is relatively easy (but clunky) to use. You can find most features you want on it once you get used to the layout.

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping patient charts organized and up to date

  ### 3. Not User-Friendly or Intuitive

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ariana F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

AxiUm gets the job done after you've learned how to use it.

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

This is probably one of the most non user-friendly programs I've ever seen. It takes a lot of training to figure out to use it. Nothing is intuitive. The layout could use improvement. It shouldn't take as much training as it does to use an EHR program.

**Recommendations to others considering axiUm Ascend:**

A lot of training time needed. It can be very frustrating learning how to use it. It is not a program you can easily "figure out."

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pt info and chart organization. It helps to have all information electronically stored.

  ### 4. No-frills university patient management system

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

I like that there are a variety of tools within the software (e.g., scheduler, patient card, odontogram, etc.).

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

I dislike the ugly layout. It's very much not built for good UI or usability.

**Recommendations to others considering axiUm Ascend:**

If you want a simple, no-frills solution for patient management, this is fine. But just be aware that it's not visually appealing and it's not winning any usability awards any time soon. It does at least integrate with a scheduler, which is nice. The odontogram can be overwhelming, however, and I cannot seem to find a complete listing or key of all the possible options that may appear.

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patient management is the business problem being solved. The benefit is having all of the patient records accessible digitally.

  ### 5. Old system that is not visually perceptive

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Payal S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

System is generally fast, lots of training material included, can hold a lot of information without crashing

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

Graphics seem old/dated, system is not too logical, hard to use the personal planner

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to store multiple data/notes/records university wide

  ### 6. Axium for dental school

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yessenia B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

It’s very organized, gives you the ability to check patient charts and view X-rays. It has everything in one program

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

It tends to freeze or crash a lot. You have to call IT to reset the program

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for comprehensive patient information to be stored in one area.

  ### 7. Workable but needs cleaning up

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

The forms are clearly labeled, along with the ease of scheduling patients.

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

Options don't always seem workable for the questions provided, and there needs to be cleaning up of the system itself. In order to work better in my area there needs to be more personalization to the options, which may be the fault of my office, not that of the system itself.

**Recommendations to others considering axiUm Ascend:**

System is useful, but does not always live up to expectations. Find the system that is best for you

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows for clear medical records, providing patients information and scheduling

  ### 8. Axium

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

Very through and becomes intuitive the more you use it.

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

Hard to learn and takes a while to get comfortable with it.

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Health care and data collection for the dental school.

  ### 9. Overall effective for patient scheduling, accounting, and records management.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

The best part of axium is the distinction among schedules and ability to generate reports related to student progress.

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

I dislike that is is only compatible with PC, should be developed for Mac.

**Recommendations to others considering axiUm Ascend:**

Consider your program needs and the staff you have to support axium for your operation.

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Student skill completion is made much easier as a result of the reports generated. This is true for dental residents, faculty, and students.

  ### 10. Good but needs improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2018

**What do you like best about axiUm Ascend?**

Its very user friendly and easy to adapt. Its versatile and you can make changes to make the software more adapted to your dental office. It is also integrated with electronic prescriptions.

**What do you dislike about axiUm Ascend?**

Dental findings on the odontogram are very limited. The teeth chart is odd. You can'tadd different restorative materials on the same surface.

**Recommendations to others considering axiUm Ascend:**

The more you use it, the faster you will adapt.

**What problems is axiUm Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digital patient chart.
