For me, Authory stands head and shoulders above anything else I've used. The functionality and look-and-feel have helped me create a portfolio that reflects my decades of work as a freelancer. Their customer service is excellent. When I discovered broken links to podcast episodes, Eric helped me suss out the issue with my podcast host. After that was done, he re-imported my podcast collection and got everything back on track. Eric went above and beyond to help me solve an issue that was driving me crazy. Well done! **What do you dislike about Authory?** Not too much to dislike. Everything is straightforward. **What problems is Authory solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating a central hub to display my work ### 2. You can arrange your content into an unlimited number of collections so you can highlight exactly what you need for a specific client. You can also bring Authory over to your own website so your portfolio page there is constantly updated. I pretty much use it every day and any question I ask is very quickly answered by customer support. In fact, they've updated the help guides a few times based on my questions, so they are incredibly diligent about improvement. **What do you dislike about Authory?** There really isn't much to dislike... For someone just starting out, it might be on the pricey side. And, if you need to upload multiple articles, you have to confirm the source each time. I reached out to ask if there was a way around this when I had more than a hundred articles from the same source and they offered to do it for me. **What problems is Authory solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been writing for years with content spread all over the place. Bringing it into one place has been a bit of a project, but I have no idea how I would even do it without Authory. ### 3. I love that it handles the hunting for you - looking for and formatting articles took up a lot of my time when trying other options. I also really like the flexibility and control it gives you. Content can be organized with collections and embedded into other websites. I don't know how, but Authory even reports how many impressions my work has made throughout multiple social media channels. All I did was give it a link! While I'm still in the process of perfecting things, I think that Authory is a next-level solution for writers and creators who want to make a professional impression online. It's truly been designed with convenience in mind, not to mention run by a team of responsive people. Five stars! ### 4. As a freelance author, my biggest challenge has been providing central access to my publications in so many different newspapers or magazines. In the past, I had set up my own website where I would copy and paste my articles for ease of access. But now it's not possible for multiple reasons. Authory provides one central place from where my readers can access all of my publications, including scientific publications and even LinkedIn or Twitter posts. It also connects with my YouTube videos and podcasts. **What do you dislike about Authory?** Noting in particular. The front page is evolving and now is much better for ease of use **What problems is Authory solving and how is that benefiting you?** My challenge was providing access to my articles published in many different newspapers and magazines, including access to youtube channels and podcasts. ### 5. I publish articles on LinkedIn, but usually someone would need to log in to LinkedIn to be able to read the articles and view posts. However, not all my clients and potential clients have LinkedIn. So Authory solves that problem. **What do you dislike about Authory?** Payment info is needed up front before starting the trial. A pre-paid debit card that I tried to use was probably not accepted as a payment method. When I put in the pre-paid card info, a message popped up saying "oh snap, something went wrong." It's frustrating that the message didn't identify the problem and just said that something went wrong. I had to guess that it was the pre-paid card and then used a regular credit card, which worked. **Recommendations to others considering Authory:** You probably can't use pre-paid cards that don't have a certain amount of money on them. Or maybe you can't use them at all. They offered to extend my trial by 2 weeks for sharing a post about them. I recommend you take the opportunity to share the post if the promotion is still current. **What problems is Authory solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem of not being able to showcase my articles to people who don't have LinkedIn or don't want to log into it just to see my articles. ### 6. In the past, when publishers close a publication, I've lost my writing samples. Authory stores all my writing independently of the publication so I now have all my content even from discontinued publications. ### 7. Using Authory instead of creating a portfolio website from scratch saves time and ensures that your website looks professional. It takes less than 20 minutes to set up, and you can also upload a profile and cover photo to personalize your portfolio. Though I contemplated creating my own website using a different platform, I'm extremely glad I decided to go with Authory. I also like that you can create different collections to organize your work and showcase pieces you are particularly proud of. **What do you dislike about Authory?** Once in a while Authory doesn't find an article or two and you have to them manually, but that rarely ever happens. Overall the website works as it should and doesn't glitch or malfunction. **What problems is Authory solving and how is that benefiting you?** Because of Authory, I don't have to spend endless hours working on a website/portfolio that allows me to showcase and share my work. Authory has therefore saved me ample time and allowed me to focus on my work without worrying that my articles are getting lost online. I know for certain that every time I publish a piece, Authory will find it and add it to my portfolio for me without me having to do anything. ### 8. It's usually 24–48 hours, but it took about four days for me cause I had a LOT of sources. But overall, it has been a good experience and well worth it for the price. **What problems is Authory solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have all my writing work in one place, so I can send a link to anybody that wants to see my work. its a very convenient thing to have ### 9. In a world where journalism is changing fast and both publications and their websites can shift overnight, having an archive of your work is necessary. But doing it yourself manually can be that thing that you hope to do but never quite get to. Authory scrapes the web (you can point it where to look) and creates both a link and an archive of the words that's downloadable even if you leave the service. **What do you dislike about Authory?** I wish the embedding into a Squarespace website worked a little better or that the API were a little more flexible in that regard. That may not be an Authory issue. Authory does regular reporting of social media interaction with links, which I love, but I'd love getting some other reporting, such as a monthly report. **Recommendations to others considering Authory:** It's worth trying.
