# What are the best managed IT services providers for organisations beginning a digital transformation without internal delivery capacity?

Hi, ops and IT leaders on G2, and reviewers who have handed a transformation programme to an outside provider, this one is for you. I am looking for the best managed IT services providers for organisations beginning a digital transformation without internal delivery capacity, and would value input from people who have been through it.

The awkward part of starting a transformation with no internal delivery team is that the same provider has to do two jobs at once: run the project, and cover the day to day while it runs. The gap usually shows up out of hours. Three that come up repeatedly on G2:

Cortavo (4.7) acts as the entire IT department for companies that do not have one, bundling hardware, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace licensing, helpdesk and security into a single per-user subscription. Reviewers describe scaling with it from a handful of staff to around fifty without hiring internally. Support is delivered remotely, so regular on-site needs are worth raising during scoping.

Magna5 (4.6) runs 24/7/365 network monitoring and a US-based security operations centre, which is the part that matters when nobody internal is watching overnight. Reviewers consistently name after-hours threat detection as the reason they moved. Coverage is centred on US hours and locations, so distributed teams should check how other time zones are handled.

7 Layer Solutions (4.8) takes on the full environment for remote-heavy companies, including laptop provisioning, onboarding and offboarding, alongside Microsoft cloud and cybersecurity work. Reviewers say they could not have built or afforded the same capability in-house. The bench is weighted towards senior engineers, which suits project and infrastructure work more than high-volume basic ticket handling.

I’d expect day-to-day coverage to become the pressure point first, especially once project work starts consuming the same provider’s senior resources. Clear ownership and response expectations for BAU support seem just as important as the transformation roadmap itself.
