They understand both the regulatory side and how product and engineering teams actually work, which was important for us.

We especially liked that they did not try to force generic templates onto our company. The processes were built around our product and existing way of working. **What do you dislike about Asteron?** There is a lot to absorb at the beginning, especially if your team has not worked deeply with these standards before. During the first couple of weeks it sometimes took us a little time to understand what required input from us and what Asteron would handle.

That became much clearer once the project was underway. **Recommendations to others considering Asteron:** I would recommend involving your product and engineering leads early and being open about how things actually work internally, including the messy parts. Asteron can move surprisingly quickly when they have access to the right people and information.

For a healthtech startup that wants hands-on implementation rather than just advice or a set of templates, they are definitely worth considering. **What problems is Asteron solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed to prepare for ISO 13485 and IEC 81001-5-1 without building a large internal compliance function from scratch.

Connectors handle the repetitive evidence work, while an experienced healthtech specialist owns scope, judgement and audit prep. You always know who is responsible. Also worth calling out: fixed scope and price with an outcome guarantee, a real week-by-week plan they stuck to, an independent lead auditor for the internal audit, and their expert in the room during Stage 1 and Stage 2. And they speak healthtech natively, so no time lost explaining NEN 7510 or hospital procurement. **What do you dislike about Asteron?** Not much. It is not the cheapest route if all you want is a certificate on paper, and it is not a self-serve tool, so if you like clicking through everything yourself this is not that. The customer portal is also less polished than pure platform products, though the Slack channel made that a non-issue for us. The early weeks do need genuine input from your leadership, and implementation work in production still sits with your engineers. Both were clearly scoped, just worth planning for. **Recommendations to others considering Asteron:** Take the free assessment, it is short and you get a straight read on scope and timeline even if you do not sign. Start before a deal or an audit deadline forces the issue, because the calm version of this project is much cheaper than the panicked one. If you sell healthtech in Europe, ask about doing your second framework on the same core from the start. Appoint one internal owner, book your leadership time in advance, and be honest about your product and customer requirements in scoping so the plan reflects reality. **What problems is Asteron solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hospital and enterprise buyers wanted independent security assurance before they would move forward, and we had no ISMS and no bandwidth to build one. Asteron built and now runs our compliance system for ISO 27001 and NEN 7510, on one shared core rather than two separate projects. The benefit is direct: certification landed on schedule, deals stopped stalling on security review, and security questionnaires are now answered from evidence that already exists instead of being reconstructed from scratch each time. It never felt like a consultancy sending us templates - they did the work, drove the timeline and prepared us properly for the audit, including an internal audit and coordination with the auditor. Fixed pricing with a certification guarantee also made it an easy decision. **What do you dislike about Asteron?** Hard to name anything real. The onboarding phase requires focus from your side - lots of questions and access to grant in the first couple of weeks. It pays off later, but be ready for it. **Recommendations to others considering Asteron:** Assign one person on your side as the point of contact and answer their questions quickly - the speed of the project depends mostly on you. They handled most of the work themselves, explained things clearly, and did not waste our time.
