We have been using it to offer an MSP service for more than 10 years now and it is stable, reliable and easy to implement as a managed service. **What problems is SaaSAssure solving and how is that benefiting you?** I run Asigra as an MSP. Restore Validation is a great tool to check if backup can be restored and can be used in DR drill because it simulates restoration without the need of target resources. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** Presently, extensible storage does not support S3 compatible storage and the likes. If VAIO can be utilized when protecting VMWare virtual machines aside from snapshot, this can be a plus factor. **Recommendations to others considering SaaSAssure:** Agentless backup of physical server and virtualize environment is the key advantage of Asigra Cloud Backup. Ease of setup, use and management comes along. READ THE DOCS! Asigra provides detailed documentation and pretty much everything you need is there. Just spend some time educating yourself before you jump in and start trying to deploy. Data Recovery is spotless and i have tried many times . 2) Asigra being agent less resolves most of the issues without having to install the software every PC , all you need to do is to select the path and schedule the backups , it starts doing its Job. 3) Adding new data sets is very easy , it doesnt take much time and it is very easy to add them. 4) Asigra Technial support is the best , you have them whenever you need them. 5) Asigra Technical Account Manager Assistance is the best , they are engaged with you enquiring about your site , issues and educating you about new products available with them. 6) Asigra TAM is also best as they do a free assessment of your site and recommend on the changes to be done. 7) Company's Vice President will be in constant touch, no matter if it is a sale or an issue , this level of importance provides the confidence that we can manage even the most complicated Setup. 8) There no of platforms it supports and it is hard to find that Asigra doesnt support particular paltform. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** I don't think there will be any dislikes , you get immediate support whenever you require them, the only issue is their upgrade which they release every year but cant complain about them as it is for betterment of the functionality of the software with latest security signatures. **Recommendations to others considering SaaSAssure:** Just get in touch with their team and they will take your through on-boarding Install the software and forget about your backups as the system will take care of it based on its scheduling. **What problems is SaaSAssure solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1) Easy to Install and it can be done in few minutes. 2) Recovery of Data is granular , instead of recovery entire system image , i can choose a file to recover of a particular user. 3) Volume based licensing helps to maintain my costs while configuring them on multiple assets and user PCs. 4) We have recovered a site from complex Ransomware issue , the entire site was up and running in 2 hours. 5) I was able to recover single email for a user. 6) Recovery of Microsoft Email Exchange was as smooth as it can be , a exchange platform of 300 users just took me to 1 hr 45 minutes. 7) Backups of VMs is so easy , it can backup the entire VM or just an application data. ### 6. I can install the DS-Client on one machine in our customer's environment and it will backup every machine on that network. I don't have to install the program on multiple machines. Their DS-Operator and Asigra Management Console make it easy to monitor our whole Asigra environment in one plane of glass. Very easy to setup and very user friendly. I have administered other backup solutions like comvault, and symantec. This is by far the easiest and best solution for a Managed service provider. The ability to not have an agent on every server that needs to be backed up is great. No extra overhead on the servers. The tech support is outstanding as well. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** I think the event log needs some work. The error's that show up in the log sometimes don't make a lot of sense. It takes a while to determine what the actual failure is. The backups don't work well over small network pipes. We have many customers that we support that don't have a high bandwidth circuit so the backups could run for days for a large amount of data. And then after running for so long, the end up failing anyway. **What problems is SaaSAssure solving and how is that benefiting you?** Over the years we have upgraded our system a few times and need to keep our customers data while moving into new hardware, Asigra does this and does it well. We are a MSP and there is very few products that offer the security needs we require and also the speed. For DR tests, backing up and restoring data Asigra does it all and does it well. Their tech support is great and knowledgeable. When we have had emergency issues over the years I have always gotten prompt excellent support, whether it is account team or tech support. They also have a features add forum where the developers put more time towards the requested items to make the product better. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** Some of the reporting on storage trend growth or custom reports can be not user friendly. The install process and setting up backups can be a bit overwhelming for a new administrator but with proper escalation of trained support this is easily overcome. **Recommendations to others considering SaaSAssure:** This is one of the best solutions on the market, I have supported comvault and symantec over last decade at a architect level and this is far more salable and better to support. **What problems is SaaSAssure solving and how is that benefiting you?** Over the years we have upgraded our system a few times and need to keep our customers data while moving into new hardware, Asigra does this and does it well. As an MSP we setup multiple customers and not having to install an agent on every server is great time saver. Also we are now learning about the new AMC. I think its a great tool. integrating an antivirus to help protect against ransomware is amazing. I look forward to implementing this server in our environment soon. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** The retention settings can be a little confusing. Another draw back with Asigra is that support is usually a few versions behind Red Hat Linux. We had an issue with a customer who was liked to update Red Hat within a month of the update coming out. We had to have them drop the service pack of Red Hat just to install Asigra. Researching errors can be a little cumbersome on the support site. Unlike other products where a quick google search will solve most of your issues. **Recommendations to others considering SaaSAssure:** My recommendation would be to use RedHat Linux servers for your DS-System and BLM. Its a little bit harder to configure. However we noticed we have had less issues with Linux over the windows servers. **What problems is SaaSAssure solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggest benefits to our company is being able to backup multiple clients with out having agents installed on every server. This saves time and resources during new customer setups. Also the fact that Asigra can encrypt data and has strong encryption help cover any compliance and audit issues. ### 21. DS-User friendly environment, give access to everything. From the way you want your environment to look, to security, configuration like create different users, backup sets, retention rules, schedules, observing event logs, errors and warnings, controlling backup bandwidth and a lot more. And this is just the DS-User. There are different tools like DS-Operator for service providers Administrators, DS-NOC web interface and many more. Backup and restore of file systems, folders on different OS or VMs become an ease case for any user. The tool give accurate information for backups and restores and guides the user to reach successful results. And on the top of that, our backup and our customer's backup are protected from Attack-loop. In any case there is a free access on a huge knowledge base where Asigra support helped users with their difficulties or problems and all cases are published for everybody. I cannot think a better agentless cloud backup solution where all function properly and in case of an issue, Asigra support team is present. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** Asigra Cloud Backup is a simple but complex solution. We have never had to tell a customer that we would not be able to get their data back to them. We protect a large group of Independent Drug Stores in the Southeast and Asigra a solid solution, with FIPS 140-2 Certification, when healthcare related data is involved. Asigra allows you to address the strictest compliance requirements. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** I'd have to say the GUI interface, however with the Management Console, some customer/user facing controls are much better. **Recommendations to others considering SaaSAssure:** Try Asigra before making any other decision. **What problems is SaaSAssure solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are excited about the new Attack-Loop Ransomware solution Asigra provides and the addition of MFA functionality to prevent data deletion. We are protecting several different solutions that run on different OS platforms while only the Asigra solution. There are very few solutions that I have used in the past or use to this day that have the ability to protect such a wide range of platforms with a single solution. A lot of other solutions are focused solely around protecting at image levels giving you the entire VM back as quickly as possible which I agree is essential for fast DR however there is very little integration for PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2 and so on in these solutions with the only way to get the data back performing an Instant VM. While that works Asigra allows you to control exactly what you want to take and how often you want to keep it with powerful retention rules making data storage way more efficient, why keep an image of an entire machine for 7 years when what you actually need is the database and only the latest server image. Asigra is second to none in this scenario. Asigra have always been very security focused and with the FIPS 140-2 accreditation gives peace of mind to end users and service providers knowing that their data is secure which in the modern world of compliance is something that is essential and something that Asigra has had baked in for many years. The entire solution is very wan and storage optimised ensuring that data is transferred offsite as quickly and efficiently as possible to ensure you can follow the 321 rule and get your data air gapped to protect against ransomware. One of the biggest benefits for Asigra is its agentless nature allowing us to protect environments without having to worry about deploying lots of different agents. This is especially beneficial for protecting Cloud resources such as AWS, Azure and Google hosted environments as you can protect various different resources easily. **What do you dislike about SaaSAssure?** One of Asigra's strongest features is always its biggest weakness, the wan and storage optimisation that ensures data is sent offsite as quickly as possible and stored as efficiently as possible can limit the speeds at which it restores. Asigra at present cannot compete with some of the other backup solutions with Instant VM and recovery so DR is slower than other solutions when you want to recover an entire machine however when you want data from years ago it is leaps and bounds ahead. **Recommendations to others considering SaaSAssure:** Choose this solution if you want complete control over your data retention and the ability to store years of data efficiently. Then we also have to have a server at each customer address and then the agent on each system being backed up. The systems at our site are mostly all Linux, and the interfaces are not user friendly. Finally, their support is not good at all. If you do not pay an extra 1400 dollars for one time remote access incident support or 400 for a phone call then you are stuck with logging into the web portal and jumping through 100 hoops to create a case only to have to wait up to 24 hours to get a vague email response. Also I cant even find their knowledge base, and downloads are also not available from their site.
