"No Refund, Very expensive, no direct support"
What do you like best about Artlist?

Good quality of AI images and videos, UI is simple and easy to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

I subscribed to this AI video generation tool expecting a premium experience, but what I got was a frustrating and overpriced disappointment.

They explicitly advertise the “MAX” plan as offering unlimited access, but what they don’t tell you — until after you’ve paid — is that it includes no actual generation credits. That's right: you’re sold the idea of unlimited AI generation, but when you try to generate anything, you’re forced to buy credits separately. This is blatantly misleading marketing, and it feels intentionally deceptive.

To test things out, I looked into the “PRO” plan, which includes 120,000 credits. Sounds generous — until you find out that just one 20-second video (not even in HD) costs around 1,000 credits or more. That means your included credits disappear fast — and the results aren’t even that impressive for the price.

When I contacted support to request a refund after discovering how restricted and expensive everything actually was, they refused — even though I hadn’t used the MAX plan’s fake “unlimited” features. Their support team was dismissive and completely unhelpful, repeating refund policy lines without addressing the core issue.

To summarize:

The “MAX” plan does not include generation credits

They promote it as unlimited, but it’s not usable without buying extra credits

The credit consumption is steep, even for short, low-resolution clips

They refuse refunds, even if you haven’t used the service

I strongly recommend avoiding this platform unless they become more transparent and honest with their pricing. There are other AI video tools out there that are far more fair, functional, and respectful of users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Deliberately Sneaky"
What do you like best about Artlist?

They seem to have a large selection of musical tracks to use on projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

From my perspective, these guys are deliberately sneaky. I must have subscribed to their service for a project at one point, but because they never send a monthly invoice, I didn't realize that I was subscribed to them for over 2 years. My daughter is an artist and is always using my credit card to purchase art supplies so I evidently overlooked their monthly charge as some art supplies that my daughter purchased, but now I finally noticed the trend and confirmed that this isn't her's. I think these guys don't email an invoice like every other reputable online service so that they can fly under the radar and collect monthly subscription fees for way longer from people like me. But now that I realize they've collected over $500 from me over more than 2 years for a service that I never used (maybe I signed up for a "Free" trial at some point but I don't recognize the song their service shows I downloaded), I feel annoyed for not noticing that this was a subscription sooner, but I also think these guys deliberately never emailed me so as to not draw attention to the subscription. So now I feel frustrated and completely ripped off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Using this service lead to a Copyright Claim"
What do you like best about Artlist?

There's not a lot of good I can say about this company. There's a lot on the site but good luck trying to use any of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

I used their music in a video I worked for DAYS on only to get a copyright claim for using their music. I can't seem to get it resolved because you don't ever talk to a person. The "helpbot" is inadequately named as it is not helpful. I still have a claim and now instead, I'm editing all the audio in my video adding hours more to my work time. "The Best Combination of High Quality Stock Footage and Sound"
What do you like best about Artlist?

We needed a solution for our video projects that would provide both stock footage and music/sound licensing. Artlist provides both of these with an easy-to-use interface and the best mix of quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

If you only need music licensing, there are other options out there that might have slightly more options and quality sound, but for us, having a single membership at a reasonable price to license both video and audio was most important and Artlist gave the best combination. "A service that can cost you far more than money... Delay, reputation, social media engagement..."
What do you like best about Artlist?

Things started to go really wrong when we received a claim on Meta after using a song of the catalog.

Wait...

A claim for a song we pay for ?!

We were making a video for a client, we had a release date schedule, and planned everything around it. As you all know editing a video takes time, takes money...

Once the edit finished, after posting the video we received a claim and the video got removed from social medias...

We wrote to Artlist, to the claim owner too, to the different social medias, did everything we could providing every pieces to proof we have the license and that we are paying for that. But....

They told us a first time to repost it, which we did, this time the video got removed right away and we received a warning.

No need to tell you that we and our client, doing the collaborative post saw a very remarkable fall on our engagement rate after this issue.

Yes, we did not lost only time and money, we lost engagement on our account, and our client too... Try to explain your client it is not your fault... Yeah ... Big problem for our business.

What now ? Hmmm it has been a month and half at least, and finally they got back to us again just telling us that this case can't be fixed, that they are very sorry but that they can't explain why. They can't solve the claim. A problem with the artist? Of what type ? We have no idea. All we know is that if we are picking artlist, it is to avoid this kind of problems. So... Is it worth it ?

Artlist made a very little offer to cover the damage, they offer us 4 months of an extra service we don't even need.

It is a big loss for us. And this is really bad to see how they value their clients.

Can I recommend this service now ?

Hmmm I let you decide. Depends how much you value your own business as this service can be really destructive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

Not getting what I am paying for after waisting a lot of time and money on the edit of a video.

They should really make sure there is no claim on songs before selling us their licenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"They misrepresent their pricing plans."
What do you like best about Artlist?

Nothing. Their subscriptions are shady and their customer service is terrible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

It appeared that I was paying for a $25 plan that explicitly said monthly and price per month. They charged $300 for an entire year and refuse to refund me for the rest of the year because I downloaded one song. They are making me pay $300 for one song and will not assist me or be fair in how they present their service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Artlist.io - licensed music made simple"
What do you like best about Artlist?

I love that when I download a song from Artlist.io, I will not be bombarded with copyright notices on YouTube as I have been with other services. One of the most frustrating things about licensing music is having to prove time and time again that, yes, I do have permission to use this music. Artlist does a great job of ensuring I don't have to spend time fighting to prove it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

If there was one thing to dislike about Artlist, it's that there is so much good music that it can be difficult finding the perfect song I want to use! But I feel like that's a good problem to have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Artlist Really Delivers"
What do you like best about Artlist?

What I like best about Artlist is the quality of the audio clips. There are lots of places where creators can get free music to use in their content, but free music usually equals poor quality music. Artlist offers a huge selection of tracks by top artists in a massive variety of styles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

What I dislike about Artlist is that downloading clips can be cumbersome. I have to receive an email and then respond to it in order to get download access. I already pay for the platform. I already have a login. Make it super easy for me to download. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Stock Music Licensing Terms online!"
What do you like best about Artlist?

I've experimented with a variety of royalty-free stock music subscription services, and Artlist is by far the best, mainly because of its generous and expansive commercial usage license system. No other stock music service allows for unlimited commercial use under a single license. To put it another way, once you license a song and download it while your membership is active, you can use it in an unlimited number of commercial projects without fear of the license expiring or copyright infringement, even when the music is used in theatrical release films or on OTT platforms. As long as the music is being used in a video project, you can rest assured that the Artlist license terms will safeguard your content from future copyright claims! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Artlist?

Artlist's subscription costs are not among the most affordable on the market, and the procedure of licensing and downloading each music is extremely time-consuming and inconvenient. Artlist has already set a daily limit of 40 licensed downloads. However, in addition to the download restriction, Artlist has imposed a number of unnecessary additional procedures for downloading each music, which leads to a significant waste of time and energy that could have been spent on more important duties. Apart from the aforementioned disadvantage, Artlist is pretty awesome! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
