This platform has been such a great tool in comparison to other competitors who don't provide the opportunity for detail. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Image Server?** Price could be lower for college students like me but it's price is reflected in the quality and capabilities and functions. Sometimes the analysis can drag, although most times efficient. **What problems is ArcGIS Image Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is a great tool when it comes to the Raster Analysis and provides an efficient and effective platform for geomapping, especially when it comes to certain data and data sets. ### 6. I have TBs of images that I need and I never felt like ArcGIS failed to deliver. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Image Server?** Raster analysis is useful, but can drag on some times. **What problems is ArcGIS Image Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was able to find a place to store all the satellite imagery. ### 8. Shapefiles, rasters, ArcSDE vector and raster layers, as well as personal geodatabase feature classes, can be served out in ArcMap Services. The ArcMap Server extends the basic ArcIMS functionality and integrates ArcGIS Desktop **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Image Server?** Pricing and way of payment with credits etc is still a big impediment. Also, lack of documentation for amateur users can be a problem. Generally speaking ArcGIS is quite slow **What problems is ArcGIS Image Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** Rastering images ### 9. Not have to worry about prepossessing, mosaicing and re-projecting data. It is fast and efficient, much better than serving the data out through a map service. You can also do analysis on the fly (NDVI for example) **What do you dislike about ArcGIS Image Server?** Requires substantial overhead on your arcgis server. We fortunately scoped this out during the initial stages of our infrastructure build, so it was taken account. There is a steep learning curve, that is not overly well documented, however playing around, and asking on the forums will certainly get you where you need to be. **Recommendations to others considering ArcGIS Image Server:** It requires a substantial overhead on your existing ArcGIS Server, however it is well worth the additional costs associated as it truly streamlines and improves your ability to serve out imagery **What problems is ArcGIS Image Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have automated the creation of numerous image services. Data is placed into folders on a shared network drive. An automated process then kick in and creates the necessary files (including generating a cache) ### 10.
