"Comprehensive Platform for Learning Application Security"
What do you like best about AppSecEngineer?

Best part is that it offers courses to build skillsets in areas which are not being offered by many other platforms and that too the skills that are actually important and are hot topics in todays era of application security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AppSecEngineer?

They could maybe improve UX part of the application. Like if someone proceeds with AWS track then there are a lot of modules to start with so as a beginner what should be the ideal flow a beginner should follow in sequential manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from AppSec Engineer of AppSecEngineer

Thanks for the valuable feedback. We sure are working on the flow of courses to be taken in a module.

"Hands-on Labs and Up-to-date Content Make Learning Engaging"
What do you like best about AppSecEngineer?

I really appreciate the hands-on labs that provide real environments to practice security skills. The course content is consistently updated, covering relevant topics like DevSecOps and AI security. The intuitive dashboard, progress badges, and structured learning paths help keep me motivated and on track. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AppSecEngineer?

The sheer number of courses and labs can be overwhelming for beginners, making it hard to know where to start. Some advanced labs lack guided walkthroughs, which can leave me stuck on complex problems. Community interaction is limited, and more peer support or mentoring would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from AppSec Engineer of AppSecEngineer

Thank a lot for your time and valuable feedback

"Relevant and super awesome hands on training. Not a snooze fest like other training products"
What do you like best about AppSecEngineer?

I've used other training platforms before and honestly they were very boring. Content was just slides and videos. That may work for generic security training but I was looking for hands-on training. When I was searching for hands-on AppSec training, AppSecEngineer popped up and I was skeptical at first. But once I tried it and I was absolutely floored at the level of depth in this product. Best part is that everything is taught in labs and there is some supporting content on concepts in videos.

The Labs were very realistic. Dropped me into a VS Code env which is what my teams use. And then allowed for running full attacks and then build a defence all in code. My team absolutely loved this when I showed them my account and training experience in AppSecEngineer. It also gave me neat features on training rollout. They have thought out their training admin very well. I get to do quick roll outs of specific courses to different teams with across different functions and then track their progress in an easy reporting dashboard.

A very refreshing experience to training in AppSec that I have seen in a long time. Definitely going to be using it for myself and my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AppSecEngineer?

Some of the courses are a bit long. But those are limited to AppSec intro or very advanced topics in the product. Most courses are quite small as they are focused on teaching a specific flaw for a specific language & framework. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from AppSec Engineer of AppSecEngineer

Thank you for the detailed and valuable feedback. Good to know that the product is liked by the team.

"Hands-on labs made all the difference"
What do you like best about AppSecEngineer?

The labs are real environments where you actually learn stuff. It’s the first time security training felt like working on an actual project instead of watching slides. Everything maps directly to the tech stacks I use at work, so I could apply what I learned right away Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AppSecEngineer?

Some of the labs can be pretty advanced, so I had to rewatch a few sections to fully get them. It’s not a bad thing, but it means you need to set aside focused time instead of squeezing it in between tasks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anushika Babu of AppSecEngineer

"The better way to learn AppSec, DevSecOps and CloudSec"
What do you like best about AppSecEngineer?

They provide a lot of practical labs and challenging exercises for almost every skill, tech, etc. They provide learning paths and courses ranging from fundamental concepts to advanced areas like AI security, offering learning resources for every skill level. The course content is regularly updated with new modules & paths. The platform provides with shareable-verifiable badges and achievements to market learners' newly learnt skills. Small challenges, badges and even hints, keeps the learner motivated throughout the learning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AppSecEngineer?

No options for configuring playback speed or other video settings on the user profile level, which can be inconvenient for learners with specific preferences forcing users to change video settings for every video. Also, the vast array of topics might feel a bit overwhelming. Better advertisements for learning paths is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from AppSec Engineer of AppSecEngineer

We're glad to hear that you're enjoying the practical labs and challenging exercises provided by AppSecEngineer. We appreciate your feedback about the video settings and learning path advertisements, and we'll take that into consideration for future improvements.

"A new generation platform showing both attacks and remediations"
What do you like best about AppSecEngineer?

To me, the strongest point of AppSecEngineer lies in its capacity to address both points of view : attackers and defenders. The amount of exercises is covering a wide range of vulnerabilities and corrections, and the diversity of programming languages makes it particularly appropriate for companies using multiple languages daily.

The platform also proposes different types of exercises (courses, journeys, challenges) which can fit almost any security profile, from beginners to advanced users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AppSecEngineer?

The platform is still young, so sometimes, you might encounter a small bug in the UI.

But this is clearly something they're working on as they tend to disappear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from AppSec Engineer of AppSecEngineer

Thank you for taking time out for the valuable review.
