**What do you like best about Applied TAM?**

At the time, it was easy to use.  It was heavily activity based and fairly intuitive.  If you want to use open activities to control your workload, this is the way to go.  However, in comparison to Epic, it is antequated in the way it looks and connects to other Applied-owned solutions.  I do believe it is far superior to Vertafore's AMS system.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

It remains in the past and Applied isn't putting the same resources into it as it is into EZLynx and Epic, which are their newer programs.  I would look to Appled to phase out TAM over the next few years.

**What problems is Applied TAM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was solving our need for one place to store all our records - policy information and documents.  We only had to go to one source once we went paperless which increased our team productivity.

**What do you like best about Applied TAM?**

TAM was reasonably easy to use and was not as overwhelming at first glance for new users as Epic can be. TAM has many capabilities and maybe a cost-efficient solution for smaller agencies. For an agency more interested in efficiency and advanced capabilities, Epic is definitely the better solution.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

The overall look and navigation of TAM is pretty outdated. After using Epic for several years, going back to TAM is very difficult. However, when using TAM daily, it was easy enough to navigate. TAM is a pretty basic data management system.

**What problems is Applied TAM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not a current user of TAM (other than pulling occasional past information), so I am not sure what updates they are working on. Applied is an excellent group to work with, so I am sure they are problem-solving.

What I like most about TAM is how user-friendly it is. Its a 1 stop agency management system.

There is not anything I dislike. It is an easy to use system.

TAM allows us to notate customer accounts as a checks and balances system and its benefical.

I can hidethe inactive policies or coverages that don't pertain to me.  Easy Billing

trying to pay and print checks.  Accounting reports, the inability to bill to multiple entities on a policy

Yes it you are a small insurance organization.

It is outdated and not user friendly if you do not know the TAM client code.

I love all the aspects about it. It's very user friendly and easy to keep track of clients and their information.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

I'm not sure I'd it's the IT department or the software but there are things or options that would be nice to quote clients. Such as having an option for an electric central furnace.

I dont have any real problems with it. I always find what I need to do with my job to make it fit and work for me. It definitely makes it easy to be productive.

The best features are the form letters and being able to attach them to each client. The stick notes and activities help all of us knowing what we did for customer

The only thing I don't like is in the event we get locked out we need to call in. There should be an automated thing

For the amount of time we are on this system - I liked the simple layout... that is it.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

I was not too fond of the way applications were pulled, nor did I enjoy the way that items had to be attached in the system.  The billing was okay but not as easy as the other platforms.

We no longer use this platform; the problem that it solved was keeping the agency organized and flowing.

**What do you like best about Applied TAM?**

I have been using Applied TAM for over 5 years now. The system is clean, accurate, and easy to navigate even for someone with no experience in the industry. It has every function imaginable to keep your records up to date and accessible such as invoicing, downloads, billing, and document storage.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

The attachments are sometimes difficult to find if there are many and you are looking for something done many years ago. It can be time consuming to sift through them all. Also, the coding system is difficult to change/update if you need to change the way a new account was entered due to marriage/divorce etc.

**What problems is Applied TAM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything we need is in one place. All documents, billing info, notes that apply to a particular client. Very easy to see the entire picture all at once instead of having to search through multiple files. We can conglom commercial and personal accounts which is also a huge bonus.

Applied TAM has very few features that I like. One that comes to mind is probably the ability to see past memos that were created. You're also able to function while using it and I'm sure it was very feature-rich back 10-20 years ago

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

Applied TAM is way overdue for a refresh, though Applied EPIC has made that clear by completely abandoning its support. One of the major cons of using Applied TAM is that the data integration with other software such as Epic is very difficult to manage. Also, much of the data is not centralized, meaning that if you input information in one spot, you will have to manually input the information again elsewhere.

Applied TAM is used for our insurance agency's customer relationship management. Compared to paper documentation, it's more efficient.

**What do you like best about Applied TAM?**

The virtual environment makes it convenient to access vital information wherever we are. If I travel to a satellite office, I can still access my personal virtual desktop.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

The restrictions inside the virtual environtment. Right click is disabled, so moving and transferring files can sometimes be rather tedious. Storage capacity may be an issue in the future, as our database is constantly growing. When we run out, it's up to us to go through records individually and delete any unnecessary files.

TAM has made keeping track of customer conversations much easier. We can track when we talked to them and what was said.

Reports are easy to manage.  However, there is not a lot of extra functionality within the reports themselves.  There are new features that come out yearly from Applied for TAM.  

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

Old, out of date platform.  Applied Epic is a much better product, but is expensive to implement.  It is easy for everyone not to do the same workflows.  There is nothing to "force" processes.

The best thing about TAM is that it is easy to use once you have customized it and use it for a while. It makes attaching, setting reminders, making notes, and using Acords very easy.

There is a learning curve to this this software.  When making activities and using Acords I wish there were more ways to customize software.

This is a well priced and easy to use software. I recommend it to others.

It is very easy to use. Fast if you need to rush something to the client, ex. COI, binder. It also very powerful in terms of keeping all the records and policies. When you need anything, you can find it very fast.

The company stops update this application. So this application is kind of outdated.

The software is very robust and has great document management and activity reporting.

Without buying additional features, you cannot bulk email certificates to the cert holders.

It is a very robust product with robust capabilities, but I believe EPIC's interface is more intuitive and easier to navigate.

We have all users on TAM and everyone is very skilled with using the system. It is a great source of information, especially when covering for another person who is out of the office.

It’s a customer portal as well as a finance portal as well. You do not need to have two different servers. You can have a customers finances attached to euro policy

Really outdated. One of the programs that is very useful but also lags a lot

I liked the choice of activity codes.  There were plenty to choose from to fit whatever you were doing.  Also liked the highly editable applications.

The interface is very outdated and clunky.  Searchability was also not great.

It is easy to access. It has a lot of funtions that is useful. It can use to communicate with people in the office. The best insurance software I ever use.

I don't like that they are not updating Tam any more, and some functions are kind of outdated.

That it keeps all policies organized and has the ability to store attachments related to those policies.

Minor glitches, errors using the TAMOnline interface when multiple users attempt to view the same client folder. Printing certificates will often causing blank pages to accompany a certificate.

I love that it’s user friendly. I have been a Commercial CSR for over 18 years & TAM is my favorite over all the other Agency Management Systems. 

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

There is a lot of clicking & having to repeat the same step over and over again makes it very tediius and time consuming. 

**Recommendations to others considering Applied TAM:**

Do it!!!! Make the switch!!! The cost is much less than you think it will be.

It organizes your entire agency and brings it into the 21st Century. It aids your agency in becoming paperless which leads to less E&O & proper handling of all incoming mail. It eliminates the need to file & deal with ridiculous amounts of paperwork.

**What do you like best about Applied TAM?**

I enjoy the fact that all of us can see the same thing and keep up to date with our customers.  There is easy access to all of the information we would ever need, so we don't need to keep any paper files anymore.  I like that all of the information is saved, so that it can just be updated and corrected each year instead of starting over fresh every time a policy renews.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

I don't like how some of the info is organized because it's out of order.  For example, the application information that you complete does not follow the way it reads on the actual Accord form.  This means that you have to jump around alot when filling out an application from a producer.  

**Recommendations to others considering Applied TAM:**

Definitely get this if you have multiple CSR and Producers in your office because it steamlines all of the information you have into one place where anyone can access it at anytime.

**What problems is Applied TAM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't need to have paper files anymore, so it saves money on paper and ink.  We can all access the same information all the time, so if a producer is out on a call on the weekend or after hours, he doesn't need to wait until the next day to give the client the answer they are looking for.  It keeps things smooth and organized since we are all on the same page.  If a CSR is out of the office, anyone can jump in and know what is going on with every client.

I like that it is easy to use, and makes work easy.

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

It can sometimes be very slow and freeze, and using the upload center is just an extra step that takes time. 

**Recommendations to others considering Applied TAM:**

I would recommend Applied Tam to anyone in the Insurance field. It is one place that has all of your accounts, records, history, and much more! It is also very simple to use! We are actually going to be switching to Applied EPIC in the next couple of months - so stay tuned.

Keeping all of our client information together and easy to access. This protects us from E&O claims.

I would say the document search works pretty good. As long has you have own keywords you use for the company, everyone can easily follow up when the main contact is missing.

Old interface. It just looks old. They should do better job at making it pretty.

If you are looking for a software to help your everyday work, this is the one. But you need some commitment

I am attaching everything I get and send on Applied. It is crucial to my everyday work. Both P&C and Health&life team and see what they are doing.

The only thing that I like is that you can filter what you are seeing.

Everything. It is so old fashioned. The color scheme. It's just been a nightmare to work with. I cannot wait for our new program.

It is very easy to navigate, reports are fairly basic to figure out, I like the simplicity how to find clients; enter notes, attach files to that client.

I dislike not being able to which of our agencies clients belong to. If they aren't with us, we can only see their name.

**What do you like best about Applied TAM?**

Applied really has all the bells and whistles that any agent would ever need. It is the complete package. I like that all my customers are stored in one spot. They also have tons of reports that you can run, so you know what is going on with your customers. I also like the ease of attaching files, so I can keep all my important documents attached to each customer.

Unfortunately with all the bells and whistles it is easy to not fully use the whole system. I feel the worse part is the available training on the product.

It helps us to keep our customers at our finger tips. We have several office locations and it has helped us to know when someone else is already helping a customer. It also helps us to keep all our accounting straight, so that it comes to tax season, we are good to go.

**What do you like best about Applied TAM?**

The best part of it is the ease of use - it is extremely easy to use and function as an agency when we have this tool to help us. It also is always available  - something we didn't have with our old program due to frequent updates, error messages, malfunctions, etc. It is smooth!

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

I dislike that I don't feel I am using it to the fullest that I can as an agency. I feel there are missing details such as activity types, ACORD/document functions, and some of it feels very retro - like I am working in the stone ages on a DOS computer!

We are solving the compatibility and availability of our agency as a whole. The benefits are the functionality - it is WAY easier to use!

I love that I can do fax, email, print, scan right from one spot. The ability to attach emails, docs, & pics in each customers specific file is one of the most useful features I have ever used in a professional capacity. I love that I can bounce between multiple customers at once without interference!  It is a multi tasking tool!

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

There are so many extra time wasting steps that you have to go through at times. And finding the notepad can be tough.

We are getting ready to switch to Applied Epic. Once I have used Epic I will report back as to which program is better.

We use TAM for all of our data management. It allows the entire office to share work if needed.

Activities that can be added on to, previous entries cannot be changed but notes and additions can be added to make the history of an account very easy to follow!

Less integrations than Vertafore products, but still highly competitive

Applied systems are one of two large AMS software companies - rivaling Vertafore. Both companies have viable solutions - but be sure to take the opinions of your account managers as they really are the ones using the system Day in and day out and have to like the way the system runs and navigates.

Ease of use and can hold thousands of clients and documents. I like how I can drag an email or file from one screen and attach it directly to a client's policy. 

**What do you dislike about Applied TAM?**

It crashes way too often even with updates. You can only see one client screen at a time. You must change your password every 90 days which can be annoying writing down a new one all the time.

I love how user friendly Tam is. You can conveniently attach files, make notes and update things regularly. Its very easy to train on and lots of avenues within the software that appeal to most all departments.

the ONLY thing i dislike-is this program i feel is more for commercial accounts-where i'm in Benefits-but..its still very useful for us.

Again, anyone training to use this software will see its very user friendly and easily understandable. I couldn't keep my files organized and offer great customer service without this!

It isn’t very easy to look at. It’s kind of like DOS in the sense that it’s no-frills but reliable.

As long as you do everything right on the front end, the reports and apps you are able to run are the absolute best of any similar programs.

WE HAVE AN ISSUE WITH GETTING LOCKED OUT FROM TIME TO TIME.  NEEDING EVERYONE TO BE SIGNED OUT IN ORDER FOR THE UPDATES/IVANS TO RUN CORRECTLY AT NIGHT.

IT IS VERY EASY TO KEEP TRACK OF CUSTOMERS, ACTIVITIES, ATTACHING EMAILS, PHOTOS, APPLICATIONS TO THE FILE AND ALL OF THE AGENTS ARE ABLE TO SEE IT.
