Apache directory is a tool created by apache, open source which will allow us to organize our directories in one, the main idea is to organize LDAP applications in this directory, which I do not see much sense

**What do you like best about Apache Directory?**

It's released under Apache license. It supports a form of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to talk with the directory service database.
The simplified process is to created a connection to send request to LDAP server, binded the connection between client and server application, searched the operation to get the response from the server, unbinded the created connection and finally, closing the connection. By using client application, we were also able to manage users and groups.
It's open source software and available for most of all operating systems with its unique installer package.
