The best part about Amazon Linux 2018.03 was the alignment towards AWS services. It was one of the most widely used Linux image across AWS cloud by muliple companies. I personally liked that it came baked with all the necessary featureset needed for deploying my applications without manually installing features one by one. It has reached end of support now, so cannot be used instead Amazon Linux 2023 is released. I particularly disliked that it was based only on one distribtuion of Linux, it would have been a lot more useful if it was more of a wrapper on multiple distribution of Linux.
