Aiven does all the nasty work of settin up, maintaining, and caring for my MySQL. It saves me time for coding cool things, not fighting backups. The promised high availability configurations also become buggy and cause unexpected failures. The challenges of installation, configuration, and maintenance still lurk a perfect workflow. The cost of convenience comes at a price, and Aiven is not a cheap solution. Before diving in, do not forget to crunch the numbers, more so if your data needs are low. The weight of the database is removed from me by Aiven, and I can focus on what I am good at. It is giving automatic upgrades, no more mess, no more anxiety about backups, and no more fear over downtime. It is asking to having a superhero database available 24/7. The way everything is easily accessible, the layout was well thought of and how it helps experienced users with their productivity. As crazy as it sounds, some people (like myself) need to access things on my mobile phone. It isn't mobile friendly yet but I'm sure it's being worked on. Price as well. I believe two things are good in Aiven; the first is the console, which is easy to manage and understand, and the other is the backups. You can restore it with a few clicks. It feels painless.
