A4B CMMS Reviews & Product Details

A4B is a cloud-based Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) built for small and mid-sized maintenance teams — and for the operations leaders who have to budget for the equipment those teams maintain. It replaces spreadsheets and per-user enterprise CMMS platforms with a flat-rate tool your team can deploy in 15 minutes, and it connects day-to-day maintenance work to capital planning without a second system. CORE CAPABILITIES Asset Inventory Management Track every piece of equipment with serial numbers, manufacturer details, warranty dates, and custom fields. Organize assets across multiple workspaces. Auto-generated inventory numbers keep everything indexed. Import existing data via CSV — no re-entry needed. Preventive Maintenance Scheduling Create scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks with due dates, assignees, and priority levels. Daily email notifications for upcoming and overdue tasks respect each user's timezone. Move from reactive "fix when broken" to proactive "maintain before failure." QR Code Asset Labels Generate QR codes for any asset. Scan with your phone to instantly pull up asset details, maintenance history, and schedule new tasks on the spot. No app install required — works in any browser. Performance Dashboards See asset utilization, maintenance completion rates, and team workload at a glance. Export activity logs to CSV for compliance reporting. 30-day history on Free, 5 years on Premium. CAPITAL OVERVIEW (FOR OPS LEADERS AND FINANCE) Most CMMS tools stop at the maintenance log. A4B connects maintenance data to capital planning on an admin-only dashboard that shows: - Total fleet book value across every tracked asset - Monthly value loss from depreciation this period - Top depreciating assets — which equipment is losing value fastest - 12-month replacement budget forecast — what capital spend is coming up A4B supports both straight-line and declining-balance depreciation methods, with per-asset inputs for useful life, salvage value, and method selection. That means a facilities director or CFO can plan replacements on the same calendar as the PM schedule — with numbers instead of guesses — and the maintenance team never has to spin up a second spreadsheet. Financial data is admin-only at every layer. Non-admin members, MCP clients, and activity-log viewers never see book values, depreciation, or historical financial changes. Capital planning lives where it should: with the people who own the budget. AI INTEGRATION VIA MCP A4B ships a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — an integration still uncommon in the CMMS category. AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible tools can directly: - Query your asset inventory and maintenance schedules - Create and update assets and maintenance tasks - Search asset history and generate reports - Manage workspaces, users, and invitations The MCP server provides 23 tools secured with OAuth 2.1 + PKCE, full audit logging, and multi-tenant isolation. No API keys to manage — AI tools authenticate through standard OAuth flows. And because financial data is gated server-side, MCP clients inherit the same admin-only restrictions as the web app. PRICING A4B uses flat-rate pricing — not per user. Your 50th team member costs the same as your 1st. - Free: 5 users, 50 assets, 2 workspaces — full feature access (including Capital Overview for admins) - Premium: $19.99/month — 50 users, 500 assets, 5 workspaces, 5-year activity history, priority support Compare that to industry norms of $45–75 per user per month. A 20-person team on A4B Premium pays $19.99/month total versus $900–1,500/month on per-user platforms — and the savings compound as headcount grows. SECURITY & COMPLIANCE - Hosted on Heroku/AWS with enterprise-grade infrastructure - GDPR and CCPA compliant with consent management - Role-based access control (Organization Admin, Workspace Admin, Member) - Versioned audit logging for asset changes, with financial history filtered from non-admin views - Admin-only gating applied at policy, controller, and MCP tool layers IDEAL FOR - Maintenance managers replacing spreadsheets or expensive per-user CMMS - Facilities and operations directors who need capital-planning visibility alongside PM scheduling - Finance teams and CFOs supporting operations with depreciation and replacement budgets - Manufacturing facilities managing equipment fleets across sites - Multi-site organizations needing centralized asset tracking with role-separated financial access - Teams of 5–200 using AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) who want those tools reading and writing real operations data
