A&P OJT Tracking Reviews & Product Details

Grease Pilot OJT is a specialized training and documentation platform built for people pursuing their FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certificate through practical work experience under 14 CFR §65.77—the alternative to attending a Part 147 school. Who it's for: - Civilians working hands-on aircraft maintenance jobs who need to document OJT hours - Transitioning military personnel with aviation maintenance backgrounds (JSAMTCC pathway) - Aircraft owners/builders gaining maintenance experience - Career changers from adjacent trades like automotive or diesel What it does: Grease Pilot bridges the gap between unstructured on-the-job experience and the formal FSDO evaluation process required for A&P certification. The platform provides: - Structured OJT documentation — Training records formatted to satisfy FAA Order 8900.1 requirements, with supervisor signatures and compliance statements - ACS-aligned video lessons — Content mapped directly to FAA-S-ACS-1 subject areas covering General, Airframe, and Powerplant knowledge - Apprentice Finder — Connect with supervising A&P mechanics willing to sign off on your documented experience - Test prep and quizzes — Knowledge checks aligned to Airman Certification Standards - A&P-signed completion certificates — Documentation to present during your FSDO evaluation The regulatory complexity is the point. Earning an A&P through practical experience requires proving verifiable experience in at least 50% of ACS subject areas. Most people don't know what the FSDO actually evaluates or how to document their work properly. Grease Pilot structures your entire journey from first wrench turn to oral & practical exam. Built by a working A&P mechanic who's been through the process—not by developers guessing at what the FAA wants.
